I wasn't even sure you were being sarcastic , But now we can all agree Lester was the best Arm available ..n he got 50 million less than Schurzer ... Great Signing .. Add Price or Greinke n 2015 = Jorr cuts his wrist in his clawfoot bathtub.

Impressive ROI, especially on a team 16 games over .500

Well, theyve been shut out in 5 of those games. I guess he could provide more offensive pop.

When they give him at least 1 run, they are 12-7 and he is 7-3.

I guess he's one of those bums that needs at least 1 run to win.

unlike the pitchers he pitches against

I guess he's just hard luck John.

Bigfan was not agreeing with you. He was just pointing out how Scherzer is pitching lately.

Scherzer has had a better overall season than Lester. There is not one thing you can point out that would mean Lester has had a better year than Scherzer.

The Cubs wouldn't have gone wrong either way.

Danks = Haren ..n I'd prefer J.D. ..he's got better stuff ... Pound Sunday Chris Sale vs Haren .... Sox n over . even if Sale is minus 180 n total is 10 ...its easy $

Are you a run support denier too?

I think its difficult to win games without the offense scoring one run

Schwarber with two bombs. All while playing like a pudgy Kevin Mitchell out in LF. Wait a minute.

Ah hell, they all can't look like Glenn Bragg out there.

Not at all.

However, I'm not going to get up and pronounce to the world that I am thrilled with my bell cow when the team doesn't win games that he starts. No excuses when you're the man.

You know I'm a big Quintana guy. I've defended up and down these here boards. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little off putting that the team is most likely to lose a close game when he starts.

The Cubs will be 12-10 in games that Lester starts.

If Lester pitched every game for the Cubs, that would be an 88 or 89 win season. Last year's World Series winner won 88 games.

Lester has outdueled Cole, Wainwright, deGrom and others this season.

He is a winner.

12-10 for a team that is 16 games over is not very good. Someone else is carrying his water

but that's fine, he's pitched well

I expect more. I expect my top guys to pitch well AND win and I would expect my top guys to feel the same.

The percentages are close.

Cubs are on pace to win 93 instead of 88.

Don't be jealous the Cubs are able to pay their #2 well and Dollar General Jerry cannot.

Arrieta is the ace.

In 2018, the Cubs will be paying Arrieta, Lester and Price all $20M+ per season.

Percentages are deceptive in this instance, which you are well aware of. A five game difference in winning is huge. Even more to that point, he should be the guy who is way above the average.

I don't know why it is tough to admit you wish he won more games? I'll readily admit he has pitched well.

I thought Arietta was locked up for another 2 years @ 7 per .

Lester is making 22 per n Price is getting 7@30 .

Never though they would get to this many over .500. I picked the Sox over and Cubs under for win totals this year.
