This really is the Cubs World Series.

I wouldn't say much better, but he is outplaying Abreu this month.
Ok. I agree. 14 days ends the conversation.

Baseball ebbs and flows. You can't judge on one month. Schwarber looked like shit against Garza on Wednesday. He was great yesterday. Abreu is awesome. You can't deny that. If you don't judge the Sox fairly, then the conversation is just stupid. We can argue and disagree, but let's do it with as little bias as possible.

I am not sure how much the Cubs fans here watch the Sox. Because some of the comments are silly.

Maybe this is all one big troll.

Abreu can't field or run. While Schwarber can't catch you can see he can move. He play passable D in the field. If there wasn't Rizzo I'm sure he'd excel at 1st. Both players can hit. So gimme the guy who can do other things too.

Coghlan has been more impressive overall this year. He's hitting just as well and, again, he can field and run the bases.

So Schwarber is better because he is bad at his position but Abreu would be worse, even though Abreu plays a different position?

I'm guessing Schwarber is a better shortstop than Abreu too. Who cares?

For the Sox, I like Eaton, but he hasn't hit well enough. The jury is still out on Garcia. I am not a fan of Quintana, although many experts thinks he is very good. Sale no comment needed. Abreu, I already stated. Their recent call-ups have played well, but way too early to tell. I don't have a read on Rodon, he seems to walk too many guys. Too early on him. Not much else there for my money.

I had Abreu,Sale,Cabrera over their Cub counterparts. Kirkwood said Schwarbar over Abreu. Not me. I just said Schwarbar has been hot this month. That is alot different then saying he is far better then Abreu.

That three-game series against Kansas City, you could take us talent for talent, we're probably a little better than Kansas City. They execute better than we do.
Hawk
KC executes 10 times better than the Sox. And Ned Yost is not the best of managers.

Also KC has way more talent

I disagree with that. Quad City Shithead twisted himself into knots trying to explain how the Royals were better at almost every spot. He somehow had Hosmer as better than Abreu. Mike Moustakas is Gordon Beckham if Beckham had gotten hot for a month on a World Series team.

Screw the Royals. What thread is this??

Cubs will probably get swept this weekend because that would be so Cubs.

IF Schwarber played 1st he'd be FAR SUPERIOR than Abreu. Abreu is such a immovable mess that he can't play left field or catcher.

With Quintana and Samardzija going I don't think you have to worry about a sweep.

Schwarber is a fat piece of shit. I hope the Cubs make the World Series and he blows it for them by dropping a ball in the AL park.

For you Frank. Both players last 30 days.

Schwarbar

Last 30 Games 102 26 34 8 25 14 30 2 .333 .424 .627

Abreu

Last 30 Games 116 20 34 7 22 10 31 0 .293 .374 .526

He is playing slightly better then Abreu the last 30 days.

Abreu is fine at first base. You are stretching here if you are saying that Schwarber would maybe be a better defensive first baseman.

Just don't forget that the baseball know-it-all says that Schwarber is a fat piece of shit.

There's no good defensive place to play him. Are you really going to argue with that? Sure, you can stick any big guy at first. But Wrigley Field is going to get crowded over there with Bryant, Rizzo, and Schwarber all trying to play it at once.

Theo's best move would be to trade Schwarber to the AL in the offseason.

The Sox may even give them Fulmer and another one of their numerous top 100 prospects.

I don't know if I could ever forgive this franchise if they traded Schwarber just because they don't know where to play him. This guy is going to win MVP awards. He is that good.

No question. I'd say at least two MVPs and one World Series MVP.

No, he is going to torch the Cubs in the NLCS just like Miggy did in 2003.

It makes me sad that this is my last Cubs-Sox series. :(

Why would you think that Bryant would ever play first?
He can play all three outfield positions and seems to be pretty damned excellent at third base?
Also, why would you say that Schwarber will never make it as a catcher?
