What is their record now when Babe starts?

The kids don't know any better.

I keep seeing reports of Cubs interest in Chase Utley. I don't get that one.

Would much rather see them bring up Baez and let him have a shot at that spot.

And if nothing else let Castro and Coughlan platoon for the spot.

Hopefully, they don't figure it out in the next two months.

I agree.
Leave Utley and his questionable attitude away from this team.
I'm fine with Castro and Coughlin.....Castro will hit some eventually.

No thanks on Utley. Fred McGriff redux. I'll pass.

Bring Beaz up and let him play. It can't hurt.

No to Baez. Keep Coghlan at second for this season. Too much risk involved.

He twisted his stomach muscle for most of the season. Forgotten man but he is a good contact hitter in limited MLB exposure.

He ends up being a total blackhole in the lineup. Coghlan does a fine job.

Not sure it's a "risk" so much as Coghlin is hitting pretty well lately and Castro can play 2B/hit sometimes too.

I'm fine with Baez getting another shot at everyday 2b but do it in 2016. Now is no time to fuck around.

Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Go for it.

Mutual funds agree. Bring Baez up.

"I like where this is going."

You insert Baez at 2nd base and your infield defense goes waaaaay up. It hasn't cost us yet, but at some point, having Coghlan and Schwarber on the field is going to cost us some big runs.

It's scary to think that Castro, Starlin Castro, is a defensive replacement in the late innings.

Yes. Even if he only hits .220-.230 he will be a better run producer with his power and play better defense.

When Castro does hit it's usually a weak single that somehow trickles through the infield.

That strike that Ross threw yesterday to try and nail the baserunner and Castro just went all fucking lackadaisical on the play and didn't actually tag the guy was my last straw. Seriously fuck this guy.

@IowaCubsGameDay: Baez singles in the 7th to make him 4/4 on the night with a HR, a double and 2 singles. Iowa leads Fresno 8-0, B7.

Might as well just plug him into the machine.

I'd take his upside over Tommy Lasorda.
