9 in a row was nice but the Cubs have no chance tomorrow. The pitching matchup is just way too lopsided. Thats why yesterday and today was so important.

Doesn't Sale have a 13.00 ERA for the past month?

Or doesn't that stat matter any more? I can't keep up.

While it would be great for the win streak to reach double figures, losing one game in the series to a top 5 pitcher, would not be a disaster. This was the game most Cubs fans saw as the greatest challenge. The Cubs are a team who's top hitters (except for Bryant and perhaps Russell these days) are primarily left handed. Rizzo hits lefties real well, but I have to think Sale will be tough on the boys. With Haren facing Sale, it's unlikely a sweep will be completed. But with a series victory already assured, they are playing with house money.

Top 5 pitcher???

his stat sheet isn't much better than Dan Haren. They flashed the stats for both during the game. I was shocked how close they are.

Definitely. The Cubs are a runaway train right now and the Sox are dead dogs.

Yes, Sale has had some lousy outings in the past few weeks. but I suspect he may have a stellar outing tomorrow. Yes, I consider Sale a top 5 starter and if he returns to the form we saw from him the 6 weeks prior to the All-Star break, the Cubs will be hard pressed to scratch out any runs. I hope he continues to struggle, but I don't count on that happening.

If Slick Joe loads tomorrow's lineup with right handers, then Sale will have any easy go of it.

He would've had to run on the field and attacked Schwarber to be arrested at Cominsky Field. Precedence.

considering the guy isnt a veteran...and might be the player with the least time in MLB at this point that is a starter, thats just good ole tough guy shit right there.....

Imagine the crying from some Sox fans if that actually happened at Wrigley? 'See, you guys suck too!" LOL

He missed by so much they mistakenly thought that he was a Cub relief pitcher.

I'll keep listening until you Cubbie fans win something more like the month of August.

Something like a World Series.
