I agree by themselves bite marks aren't indicative of a sexual assault. However, when there's a person saying they were raped, being all bitten up and sliced up lends credence to that claim; I would think.

Kaner could come out and make a public statement. Saying it was all consensual. Not sure why he doesn't. If he's innocent, no reason not to.
Total radio silence and hiding at his house with the Stanley Cup isn't the best look if he's innocent of any wrongdoing.

I would be screaming it all over, all day, every day, until it went away. If I were falsely accused of something like this. If you're innocent, giving a truthful public statement can only help you.

I think any good defense lawyer would tell you to lay low and stay quiet -- regardless of guilt. Especially if you are famous.

I think anyone confident that they are being railroaded on a bullshit rape charge would be more than comfortable making public statements to that effect. And it would help their legal case because the prosecutor's put on notice that you're not buying a bullshit claim.

By staying quiet, you're essentially saying "I need to play my cards close to the vest and hope this thing gets derailed by the legal process".
