I used to be a Rosemont guy but Cumberland's garage and easy entrance to 90/294 makes it a winner.

Yep and that was with priority parking in the green lot. Of course it took me another 15 minutes of driving around in circles trying to figure out where the hell the green lot was.

I probably should have been more clear. It's the "first" place I'll take my kids when they're old enough. When they're the age I was when I was introduced to Wrigley (9) I will take them to Wrigley. My plan would be to start at Kane County (I suppose I'll make them Cougars fans instead of Cubs fans?!) then Cellular then Wrigley. Not just because of the parking. It's also the fan base, too much beer drinking and swearing, dumb college kids, overcrowding at Wrigley that makes me want to do something different when my kids are young. No, I'm not raising them to be Cougars or Sox fans.

As far as the train, can't handle it. Instant motion sickness for some reason. I'll always drive/bus.

I'm not a bad fan...just a picky fan. Deal with it. When I was younger, I lived at Wrigley. Can't do it now.

And 88 is easier to deal with than 90. So there's that coming from the sticks.

we traveled into the city to see a cubs game a couple weeks ago and it couldn't have been much easier. free remote parking, take a 10-minute bus ride to the park, walk in. it was completely hassle-free, except for the long drive to and from the game from the far west territory we call home. we have had equally easy time getting to the Cell. i like both parks and have never had too much of a problem getting to either. say what you want about ballpark amenities at each park, but getting to either isn't very difficult where it should be a game changer, especially after your first time.

The terror of going to Wrigley....only matched by that female reporter that was offered drinks by some guys hanging out...that all slunds traumatic

I'm in NW suburbs. I take the L to Wrigley.
Soldier Field is a dump but it's not that bad to get in and out of.

If the McDome that was proposed 20 years ago would have been built, instead of just aiming for the NFL Draft, the City of Chicago probably would have hosted multiple Super Bowls by now.

if they had built that McDome 20 years ago, it would have been right in the same era the Edward Jones Dome was built and that stadium is widely regarded as one of the shittiest stadiums in the NFL. if that were on chicago's lakefront it would be another "mistake on the lake". i think the Bears did better renovating soldier field the way it turned out than what a mid-90's dome would have been had they built that.

The Casino would have been built over the train yards between Mich ave and LSD...

Yes and no. If I have the timeline right, the Edward Jones Dome was built on spec in the hopes that an NFL team would come to St. Louis, kind of like the Trop in St. Petersburg. Both stadiums cut a lot of corners without confirmed tenants and it showed. I'm sure a dome built for the Bears would be better than what the Rams are moving out of now, but it still would have sucked because it'd be a dome and domes are terrible.`

I know it was intended to lure the White Sox, then later the Giants and Mariners. I don't know how far along negotiations were with the White Sox before they started building.

The current owners are former Goldman partners and once stated that buying the team was like "buying the cheapest house in the best subdivision." Apparently the money they get from MLB national TV and internet makes up for the crappy attendance.
