This movie was everything I hoped for and more. Must see! Thomas Jones had a brief appearance too.

Ice Cube's kid is a dead ringer for him. One critic said it was good but too long, NAS. What did you think?

The trailer looked good. What about Giamatti? Was he believable?

I saw The Man from U.N.C.L.E. instead.

If you cross both movies you get:

Cube's kid couldn't have done a better job. I believe it was a little over 2 hours but I didn't think it was too long. They squeezed in a lot but they kept you interested. The information at the end of the movie surprised me.

Of course it's long. They're black.

Made $56 million this weekend. I'm pretty sure it was all white suburban kids who went.

For those of you not familiar w/ the song here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG2EGOB9-lc

On another note, Fantastic Four only made $8 million in it's 2nd week, which is hilarious.

My kids know more about NWA than I do.

I think it would make for a great sketch comedy piece to have white suburban teens go to a predominately black theater to watch the movie. Have the theater completely quiet except for the white kids talking to the screen during important scenes.

Went to see Gridlock'D, with Tupac and and Tim Roth.

The movie is about trying to get help in the system, not having a SS#, etc. was a really good movie.

I was aware myself and the GF were one of the few, if not only white people there.

We walked out and while I wasnt in awe, it was a solid movie and I wasnt bummed for going, but the crowd...wow "THAT SUCKED! PAC DIDNT SING ANYTHING!"....I was cracking up, because I thought it was a solid movie for the movie itself and everyone came to see Pac rap....oops.

Saw a ton of the making of this film and seeing Ice was on set and had a big part in it, I figured it would be about as good as could be.

As always, I look forward to its cable release.....when is Entourage getting to me?????

Would the One Direction movie get that same kind of news coverage?

That's reminiscent of when I went to see Dracula- the one with Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder- at Norridge Theater. All the uncultured douchebags from the Northwest side walked out complaining because Johnny didn't have enough quality kills. I wanted to scream, "It's a love story, you fucking morons, not a slasher film!"

I'm shocked that a bunch of 35+ people didn't shoot up a theater. It seemed like 80% of the people who was in the theater when I went had some gray hair.

D'oh! A 1991 White Sox hat goes back to the future in a scene from 1986 in which Eazy-E is sporting south side colors.

It was Keanu Reeves.

I think Keanu was her hapless mortal boyfriend who acted a bit like a Victorian Ted from San Dimas and Johhny was her immortal love, Dracula Scissorhands.

Remember when Ice Cube was in Chicago filming Barbershop II and got sorta ID'd as the Wicker Park rapist.

July 27, 2003|By Terry Armour.

A fine how do ya do from Chicago's blue

Surely, we weren't the only ones who picked up on the irony of ICE CUBE's introduction to the Chicago Police Department last week. The CPD apologized to the rapper-turned-actor, who is in town filming "Barbershop 2," after issuing a community alert saying a suspected Wicker Park rapist resembled him (Channel 2 apologized, too, for the bonehead move of airing video of the rapper with its report about the attacks).

Of course Ice Cube made a name for himself in the hip-hop world for his stinging lyrics about the police. "Police are a lot friendlier to me now," he once told CNN after he turned to acting. "But just think if I was the average, everyday brother driving down the street. How would they be to me?"

Now he has a good idea, though he already appears to have put the Chicago incident behind him. "Obviously, we were surprised," his spokesman MATT LABOV told Armour & Co. "But we got what we needed and wanted, in terms of the apology. We're looking to just move on."

In other words, no songs about the Chicago Police Department. At least, not yet.

Just heard ex-Bear Thomas Jones on Larry's show. Apparently he is in the biz and was in this movie.
