...and I wont be there now...even after winning a silent auction to be there....

I wont be there because , I bid on such item, as I thought the niece and nephew would find it cool to attend such event and meet Maddon, take a pic etc.

yesterday I got a call from Promo person telling me we need to be there by 8:30 AM....? Spiegs doesnt even get there by 8:50 Am...and I need to be there before the guy whose show it is?

Maddon doesnt get there until Noon? but they think I am sitting with a 9 and 10 year old in the Spiegel and Goff show for 3 hours???? LOL No way...I would guess most here couldnt even do that.

I didnt expect to walk in at noon, but Maybe 10:30? During any of the numerous 12 minute breaks.

I was told numerous times 8:30 or nothing, because nobody would be available to take us to the studio if we show up late? I guess the very important work of planning such high level and well thought out promotions is endless work.

Oh, and if they call me and ask for payment a 4th time, I will ask for my money back, as I paid them at the auction and they dont have any system of recording payments.

Classy move by the WSCR promo staff.

Dont want to go to Spada on this one, but she was kind of a bitch about this whole thing...

UPDATE: All is well, Mitch made eveything better, see posts below.

See if Mac was still there, he'd be able to get you when he took a smoke break.

It's Goff's fault that he doesn't appear to smoke during the show.

That would require him to stop giggling and inhale. Not gonna happen.

i wonder if goff's gonna give maddon "the nod" to let joe know that goff is up on his steez and he approves?

i'm thinking it'll be more like a spmack-to-kevin-white nod as opposed to the ones i got where goff came up behind me multiple times to tap me on the shoulder so i turn around and get my oddly-close nod right b4 he walked away. since he's JOE FREAKING MADDON you don't invade his personal space like that all willy nilly, you know?

i'm also thinking with joe maddon he at least gets a fanfaced "so uhhhhhhh how's the season going dude? are you having fun yet?"

I get the distinct impression Maddon doesn't like Jason very much.

I'm curious as to why you think so. I'm pretty much back into my pattern of not really listening to the station.

RR, I know you posed this question to DS but here is my two cents...

About a month ago, Goff cracked wise during the Maddon segment and immediately went into one of his long winded ridiculous giggle fits.

Maddon was obviously agitated and seriously asked Jason what was so funny?

Ever since, it seems that Maddon just hasn't warmed up to Goff at all..

incessant giggling and console pounding doesnt endear one to baseball managers?

btw, CBS didnt fire interns... they just decided for legal reasons they cant have interns work for free anymore for their stations and they dont want to pay interns money... so no interns.

Should have just showed up whenever you wanted with a big box of donuts and say you have a delivery for Grimmace.

I think it was around 10:45 that Julie posted a pic and said something about "studio is starting to fill up with fans for Joe Maddon segment".

UPDATE: Spoke with Mitch all is well.

Someone should have thought better of how to handle this situation, instead of the double NO, but when all is said and done Mitch has taken care of me and my people, as I didnt doubt he would.

I never doubted Mitch would do something to make it up to us, as I didnt feel this person was reflecting how he does things.

In the end everything will be fine.

Lets just say next time you hear an hour long B96 mega mix.....you know will know who is mixing it up!

there's a ton of that shit on youtube and it's a fucking goldmine as far as me and rod blagojevich are concerned =D

but yeah congrats on your wheelin-n-dealin and huzzah to you mitch because DJ BAGMAN is definitely someone you wanna keep happy. ask frank and leash =D

btw good god how i wish i was like teenaged-20something in the 80s cuz holy fuck the music was better. and i woulda made a killing in the 90s when the aphex twin era began.... you know, going back and seeing KMFDM when they were actually KMFDM =/

Agree, I think Jason got to giggly with Maddon too quick. What I did like from Maddon is that it shows the guy really wants to talk baseball. I think he lmost ignores Jason's wisecracks now and keeps explaining stuff.

I thiink he really likes Spiegs baseball geekness...and the music thing....

Yeah, I like this song, too. I regret that I was too young to really appreciate Julian Jumpin' Perez on B96 Sunday nights. I just wanted to hear "On Bended Knee" or "Here Comes the Hotstepper" played straight.

I so wish I could find more '80s/'90s Chicago airchecks.

I seem to remember being happy to hear white lines on B96 in my young days on saturday night jams. Maybe I am too old to remember though. Might have been a different station.

That would be the extended dance version in the mega mix. think it was in every mix in the 80s
