I heard it ends w/ Ice Cube making bad family movies.

Did the movie give the World Wide Wrecking Cru it's due?

I would like to see SOOC but I think a way more interesting movie would be the second phase of Ice Cube's life. You know when sells out to the White Devil in the name of cash and does shit like "Are we there yet?"

Are you talking about the guy who cried when the judge gave him 30 days in prison? I don't think Chief Keef makes enough money acting like a tough guy.

No thanks!

I mean, if they're determined to continue it, the natural story would be The Death Row story or Dre and Snoop's rise

Those that have seen the movie, what is the youngest acceptable age for a yoot to see this?
My older son wants to see it, I want to see it....but not sure about my 6th grader.

I've got nothing going on tonight and really considering checking this out at the local theater. Believe it or not I was a huge
NWA fan back in the late 80s and a young T-Bone about wore out his Straight Outta Compton and 100 Miles and Running cassette
tapes on his Sony Sport Walkman during the 40 minute ride into school on the bus. This would have been about 1989-90
when I was 13 and 14 years old (7th 8th grade). Obviously being a white kid from rural Wisconsin I was 45 minutes from the mean
streets of Green Bay, but I really enjoyed the grittiness, lyrics and beats. While others were gravitating towards 2 Live Crew
I glommed onto these guys and Public Enemy. I was into the rap pretty hard until high school and then it just faded from my
view. When I heard this movie was coming out I took notice right away and I know there is so much more to this story than
I ever knew, hence my interest going back and seeing it 25 years after my initial immersion into their music.

Why you.... :eye:

I didn't wear any gold chains or display my weapons of the street on the bedroom wall. My mom wouldn't have liked that.

I was right there with ya, T-Bone. Not necessarily NWA or Public Enemy (though I caught on to Public Enemy years later, and still enjoy), but hip hop was right up my alley in my yout. Listened to Wu-Tang Forever no less than six thousand times during HS. Hell, Shade 45 and BackSpin are my go-to stations in the mornings.

I've never once listened to Wu-Tang. If I have heard a song of theirs I don't know it. The movie was
Quite good and very well done. Casting was spot on and Cubes son is a dead ringer for his dad. I
Didn't know everything that happened to the guys behind the scenes especially with the manager.
I wouldn't recommend running out to the theatre but definitely catch it later. Great music really
Turned back the clock for me.

I took my son to see this yesterday. A great piece of history that I thought was told very well. I think they did a great job of capturing a ton of history into 2.5 hours.

What's amazing is that the original members made such an impact and only did one album and one tour together. That's a damn shame.

Jerry Heller interview…I think it took place in 2013, which is during filming of the movie.

While I found this to be absolutely fascinating, I can only conclude Heller to be an absolutely brilliant scumbag. He may not have legally ripped any one off and he clearly had enough vision to see the potential in Eazy, but he most certainly took advantage of these guys for his own benefit. Even if the movie is heavily biased, Cube saw very early the money going where it didn’t belong.
