I take it you've never driven to South Bend.

Never had an occasion to visit Notre Dame. Wanted to go to a decent college.

I think you're overstating it a bit. It's not a beautiful place like Indiana or Northwestern, but I wouldn't call it ugly. And hey, we've got the Morrow Plots!

There's a school in Angwin, California, right in Napa Valley. I don't remember the name of it, but that's a gorgeous campus. I don't think I could go to schhol there. I'd just want to grab a bottle of Cab and sit outside drinking it.

There is a difference between the town and the campus. Illinois has plenty of nice spots on campus.

agree with DB….running nomination. I don't even need the explanation to support it.

It's a beautiful campus. Probably the prettiest campus I've ever seen that was on a flat piece of otherwise farmland.
It's miles ahead of most other similar campuses in terms of aesthetics.

The football stadium is above average, but the best.
The game day experience is probably in the top 3 that I've ever been to.The benches are not very comfortable.

Went down there 15 years ago....and was really unimpressed with the whole thing. Golden dome is like putting a diamond on the the face of a 15 year old with acne.

One of my Jewlympic teammates is from there and we've become good friends so I've been down there a few times in the past couple years and my claim to fame is that I've still never seen the golden dome. I'm trying to go for some sort of lifetime achievement award for having the most visits to South Bend without ever seeing the golden dome. last time I was there I got close, but then I got laughed at when I though I saw it, but it turned out I was looking at teh basketball stadium in the distance.

Stopped on my way thru last month.

They have started to destroy the campus. Too many new buildings have totally changed the character of the campus. That, and they hired Brian Kelly as the real face of the university.

Dated a Notre Dame girl briefly last year. Cold, cold, so very cold.
