hitting into the DP was disappointing. But it's things like that, which will help him learn and grow and hopefully avoid repeating todays failure to plate a run in such a situation. He will learn more from failure than success and he still has plenty of success. Nice to have so many good young hitters, so there isn't a load on any one guy.

Dude is a pure hitter adjusts after every at bat nothing bothers him. Might be the best pick they ever made that they probably were told not to make by experts.

I could parrot what Maddon said about Baez' defense in spring training to keep his confidence up but his error total wouldn't agree with that line of thinking.

Baez is pretty hot. His fielding % is only .936 at SS, so GD is right there.

Trade him to an AL team before it's too late.

The Sox could use another Adam Dunn.

Imagine having a chance to draft this kid and passing on him.

Honestly, if you could choose now between Schwarber and Rodon, which do you take? I think both will have very good careers barring injury. Truth is, Rodon was the guy I was hoping the Cubs might get from that draft. I was pissed when the Sox took him a pick ahead of the Cubs. I think both teams got quality picks.

Easy answer ...... Rodon.... after all he is " Rodon Stud World Series"... but I really would take Rodon.

and I would not have any difficulty understanding why. I could make an argument for either to be taken ahead of the other. Again, I think they were both good picks and will have good careers barring injury.

Rodon has potential to be a great pitcher.

Schwarber has potential to be an everyday team leader that sets a competitive tone for the team through attitude and performance.

Given what we know today, I take Schwarber a bunch of days and twice on Sunday.

It comes down to choosing a left handed power hitter who can hit around 30 bombs a year and drive in over 100 rbi for 15 years vs a pitcher who may be a no. 2 or 3 starter. Easy choice, take the hitter.

This is why JORR has such a field day when it comes to Cub fans and their "can't miss" prospects.

30 HR and 100 RBI for 15 years??

Jesus...

Wow! With George Washington Rizzo, Robert E. Bryant, and Dwight David Schwarber there are a lot of generals on this team! Who is going to follow?
