The good news is that the Cubs will still probably win this game. The bad news is that our pitching has gone down the shitter other than Arrieta.

I really can't stand to see MLB pitchers throw the ball right down the middle on 0-2. It's such a fundamental mistake, it's just terrible. Thankfully, the Cubs are taking great advantage of it.

The really smart people that designed the bleachers should of left a little more space between the front row of the bleachers and the basket.

More pre-season wagering fun.
Figured the Braves would blow up Haren, didn't count on the atl rook getting rocked:

You'd rather a JD anecdote...or a Len Harrelson obscure rock n roll reference

Sooo...the Braves bullpen consists of Edwin Jackson and... Edwin Jackson? Mop up relievers like EJax never come back out for the setup 8th in a game where you are leading or tied....unless you're Freddie G.

7-3 lead going into the bottom of the 5th...not a game an MLB caliber manager loses.

Anyone who says 'managers don't matter'--how dumb a fuck do you have to be to bring Edwin Jackson out for the setup 8th? come the fuck on. you dodged a bullet letting him pitch at all. don't push your luck.

eh, Freddie G lost the game letting his rook hurler go back out when he had a 7-3 lead and could've patched together an easy W.
but even after that, send guys out for 1 out each. But sending Edwin Jackson back out for another inning? Do never.

OK, one more day of whooping up on the tomato cans....then lets get on to SF and see what matters!!!!!!, you take that series, now you really earned it...Thats a Knockout punch to the defending world series champs, who play hard and are a good hitting team as well.

Looking at the Dodgers offense, wow, that kind of sucks....the pitching, we all know can be awesome, but overall, Cubs are a better team. Damn Pirates and Cards.

That's exactly right. Perez was clearly finished in the 5th, but was left in to give him the chance for a win (which I can't stand). So because he's got nothing left, he gets 0-2 on Bryant and then to save whatever bullets he has left, throws a cream puff right down Broadway, which Bryant promptly laces for a double. That was the game right there.

Heard the two HR off of Jackson on my phone before I had to get on the plane....

1. That was Freddie G shoving his fist up his GM's ass. "You give me this piece of shit?? Fine, I'll play him then."
2. It was probably worth giving up Pineyro to see what Haren had, since Wada is fucked and Hendricks is tiring or the league is figuring him out. And Pinyero wasn't quite worth a 40-man spot this fall. But Haren is in the top 3 in HR allowed, you can't let him pitch at Wrigley when the wind is blowing like that....
3. Clayton Richard, earning himself a full roster spot someplace next year.

After that little fart against Detroit, the Cubs are doing what they need to do - beat the hell out of bad teams when they are at home.

Yeah, that's because they are a year ahead of schedule. After adding Zimmerman, Price, or some other top of the rotation starter, this problem will not exist. Great comeback today. Yes, Edwin Jackson helped the Cubs to another win. Makes sense, since they are paying most of his salary.

Price, Cueto, and budget #5 guy quality rotation everyday. Fix pen issues and BOOM five year plan working.

Lol, I think Ricketts will only allow Theo to shop from the discount aisle, given the $200 mil blown on Jackson and Lester (Lester hasn't been a disaster, but hasn't earned his salary--and the first couple of years figured to be the ones he did earn it, with years 4-6 being questionable).
