Rongey is a company man, its basically his job. Cant really fault him for it.
Fault the Sox, I mean if they are the real hard core, ultra knowledgable fan base their marketing department claims they are...well, then it shouldnt matter if he told the truth.
.....and lets go back to the guy that most of this BS trickles down from ...Kenny. From every angle he treats the organization, the ball park, the fans like its war. Calling WSCR to complain about WSCR people wearing Cubs shirt at the Cell? While I actually might agree with him, do you think any other organization president would do that....any other baseball GM going in to the Clubhouse numerous times over the years, throwing tables, turning off radios, bitching out players?
Best thing that could happen to the Sox organization is his departure.
when I started my career, an early client was Mc Donalds. They had been a client since well before my arrival. I was the most junior person on the team with at least two others maximizing the billing. We all went to a site visit for some new project. I decided to speak during the meeting and used the words "fast food". The conversation stopped and the Mc Donald's rep kind of stared at me for a minute before dismissively moving on. I got dressed down back at the office as "fast food" was some kind of taboo term within their corporate speak and I had violated.
