Without fail - airport, planes, train, stores, Starbucks, etc - there will be some jag bag watching WorldStar or a Youtube video of a kid getting hit in the nuts...on the speaker phone. Not to mention the annoying speakerphone conversations. And what about parents that let their kids play games on their iPhones at top volume or watch Frozen for the 974th time for everyone to hear.

I type this as I sit in terminal 3 at Ohare while some tard two seats over is listening to some bad country music (isn't it all?) at top volume on his iPad annoying everyone around him.

No one wants to hear it. Your device came with earbuds. Use them.

That is all.

I feel your pain. I supervise eateries for a living. I recall three goofs blasting a video on their phone while seated in a booth in a dining room that was 3/4 full. I asked them very nicely if they would please turn it down as it was clearly disturbing other patrons (one next to them was trying to read).

You would have thought I had asked them to sacrifice their first born. They got mad at me and then immediately got up and left. All this happened before they received their food.

Good riddance!

I had jury duty last fall. First degree murder trial, so it lasted a couple weeks. During deliberation, we'd be in the small jury room for 8-10 hours/day. So you would have a lot of down time, where you could do work, check your phone, whatever. One guy would bring his laptop daily and just watch movies, with no headphones and the volume on full blast. Think he watched Hustle & Flow about five times.

Good stuff. I love modern 'word speak'

You didn't say 'I manage restaurants'. You said 'I supervise eateries'.

I likes that.

Let me guess, a dude that watched Hustle and Flow most definitely vote 'not guilty' for the murderer dude?

"Murderer dude" was a girl actually. And Mr. Hustle & Flow's exact line was "I'll vote either way to get the hell outta here" when we first started deliberating. He was a treat.

Did anyone, a fellow juror or employee of the courthouse, politely ask him to either turn it down or use headphones?

Leave me alone - I have to get back to my job as 'practioner of the custodial arts'

Oh, and I hate d-bags who use titles for jobs that don't garner titles - case in point - DOCTOR Jen Welter or 'Chef'

We watch the Food Network a lot and Top Chef. Everyone calling each other 'Chef'. 'Hi Chef'. 'Tell us what you made, Chef Michael'.

You aren't a doctor or judge - you don't get a fucking title. You make chicken parm sammiches.

Should we use titles for all jobs? 'So, can i swipe my card now, Cashier Linda?' or 'Will you be dancing to Pour Some Sugar On Me, Stripper Destinee?'

Titles should be for judges, cops, elected officials, coaches and medical doctors. Not psychiatrits or chefs.

Especially chefs that talk about recipes on speaker phones!

I thought the definitions of "supervise" and "eatery" were fairly well known but apparently not. But I didn't give too much thought about it; I only mentioned my job at all because I thought it was necessary for my story which apparently was less interesting to you than my job title.

But if it makes things easier for you, I am an Operations Director for a large chain of restaurants.

Thank you and please come again.

If I had any say in it I would have had him sent to Guantanamo Bay.
