No. A Cub fan said Rizzo is putting up similar numbers to Paul Konerko (which is correct). You took over after that and attached way more meaning than was there.

A fans of a team with a history such as the Cubs should be skeptics of everything.

First, I've never said Konerko is in the Hall of Fame conversation. What I said was when you start talking about guys with better careers than Konerko you're heading into Hall of Fame territory.

Again, I think the real difference is that I don't get excited because a guy has a good season or two. Many, many guys do that. In fact, most guys who have a career of any length have at least a real good season or two. Darrin Jackson had 1994. It's a game of time and repetition. The fact that Rizzo is good in 2015 means he's good in 2015 and nothing more. If he has Jim Gentile's career, that's a nice piece of work.

Not really. The only Cub fans posting at Chicago Cub Fan Message Board that aren't making the ridiculous stereotypical statements are RPB and believe it or not, Darkside.

I'm told Bryant is better than Eaton because of the numbers. Okay. When I say then Eaton is better than Russell, I'm told no, don't judge Russell on his numbers, you have to judge him on his age. It's just silly. Then another guy says all 30 GMs would take Russell over Eaton. How he knows this, I'm not sure. I'll just assume since he's a Cub fan, he knows everything.

Yes, you're just replacing "People on Twitter" with "people at CSFMB" and making sweeping judgments.

The difference is we are all participating in this medium. I'm not using some sweeping generalization. You can read all the thoughts of the people I'm referencing right here. Bryant is better than Eaton because the numbers. Russell is better than Eaton because they said so.

Obviously not right now. But I would hope that a guy that was taken fourth in the draft would turn out better than a guy who has pitched 10 years and is about 10 games under .500. Hammel is the definition of a journeyman.

And Cub fans are hopeful that guys taken in the top 5 of the draft would be better then Ryan fuckin Klesko. No need to twist it saying we think they are all going to be all stars. We HOPE they will become all stars like you hope Rodon becomes one. We HOPE they win the World Series every year. I would hope Sox fans do the same for their team. Cubs are putting themselves in position to win the world series. Sox are not. Nothing to argue about. It's a fact, just check the standings.
