I side with Gomez.

Was Brian McCann somehow involved? I know he's the go to guy when it comes to unwritten rules.

Arrieta shouldn't be pitching this inning.

McCann wasn't on the field.

I agree with Kasper/Gomez too.
Gotdamn if the unwritten rules aren't the absolute worst thing about baseball. I LOVE baseball. I cannot stand that part of the game.

I don't know man, he was looking pretty feisty tonight in Philly.

He strikes me as the type who would fight dirty. (Bas Rutten voice) Kick to the balls. Stab to the liver.

Had to love the matchup with Arrieta/ Cain. I like their chances again tomorrow against Peavy, but the last one looks tough. 2 of 3 works. 6 in a row now. Another nice streak. Nice to see the Babe with a big HR. 35 RBI in 41 games. That I more than either Adam Eaton or Tyler Flowers has on the season and they have played all year the majors. Arrieta 16 wins now leads the majors.

Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

As a courtesy to some of our fellow posters here at CSFMB, I think we should chip in and purchase some "Life Alert" equipment for those who might hurt themselves or others while watching Cub games heading into September. It could get ugly for quite a few.

Arrieta VS Cain is all you should have needed to see, to know that thought was stupid. Hendricks VS Peavy is more favorable to the Cubs in my opinion, but not as slanted as last night's matchup. The only pitching matchup that favors the Giants is the final game of the series, much like the final game in the Sox series at U.S. cellular, where the Cubs took the 1st two, but dropped the 3rd VS Sale. I find it difficult to imagine Haren with his slightly over 6 ERA with the Cubs beating Madison Bumgarner. Crazy things happen in Baseball, but that would be a huge surprise to me should that happen.

Aside from B&B's reasons I am not sure why people hate Peavy.

This Giants lineup is an epic pile of horseshit but Hendricks blows and Russell is throwing to the wrong base. Hendricks better step it up because the Cubs need this game because a win tomorrow isn't happening.

Not too worried. Giants don't care about beating the Cubs. They are focused on the division and taking over the Dodgers. I think they know they are not getting the wild card.
