Obama on the White House MIA as usual on black on white killings in VA. Was he playing 18 holes today that he couldn't make any statement?

Worst and most divisive President in U.S. history. His term couldn't end soon enough. What a P.O.S.

I am sure his spokes person called for gun control though.

To be fair neither of the victims look like his son, if he had one .

It's not that I don't care. Feel horrible for their families and friends. But I'm not watching any of this coverage. I guess I don't care about the coverage anymore. It's the same shit every time. Gun people screaming at the non gun people.

The coverage on FOX tonight of the incident makes me sick. Everything about the woman and nothing about the camera-man, as if he didn't matter.

My heart goes out to all the victims today and all the victims and their families of the N.C. shootings, which was equally horrible.

For as much credit as he is given as a civil rights activists and visionary, no one takes heed to what Martin Luther King Jr. said about violence, when people should.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In the interest of fairness, there was a guy murdered two blocks from Obama's house last night and he hasn't spoken out on that either.

Same. I followed it up until the point he was dead. That was the conclusion. I have no use for all the debates and needless info that comes after.

I avoid all this shit for the most part anyways unless it's a mega story. I pretty much never watch the news. The world is cruel, I'm well aware. I rather play some video games or watch sports when I get home and try to forget that this shit even exists.

Good for him. This isn't "Interactive Presidency" (WAVE OF THE FUTURE, JACK!).
Let him make his statements in a day or so.

I was talking about black-on-white violence, which Obama has never spoken out about. Yesterday that was probably black-on-black violence, which he hasn't spoken about either. It's only white-on-black violence that he speaks out against.

There have been far more divisive Presidents than Barack Obama. Would you like me to provide a list of them?

Ok, I give you Lincoln. He was divisive for a good reason. But in modern times? No, Obama has no equal in this century or last.

I'm still not sure how this happened given than Amy Schumer has explicitly said "enough is enough."

Barack Obama has gone to great lengths to keep race out of politics, if you ask me. He has tended to stray away from issues involving race.
Woodrow Wilson was a renowned racist.

Harding and Truman were KKK members.
Richard Nixon was one of the architects of the Southern Strategy.

Ronald Reagan was one of the leaders of the movement which sought to repeal Affirmative Action legislation.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled crazy convention.

President Barack Obama expressed his sadness Wednesday over the shooting of two television journalists during a live broadcast.

"It breaks my heart every time you read or hear about these kinds of incidents," Obama told WPVI's Monica Malpass during an interview at the White House.

"What we know is that the number of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism," Obama added.

Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, of Roanoke-based news station WDBJ in Virginia were shot and killed Wednesday morning by a former WDBJ reporter. Suspect Vester Lee Flanagan later died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Read more on the shooting here.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest renewed the Obama administration's call for more common sense gun control reforms during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Obama is no stranger to mass shootings, having spoken out on more than 14 since taking office. He has called the failure to pass gun reform "the greatest frustration" of his presidency, but vowed to not give up on the issue.

Sounds like Rahm and McCarthy after a typical weekend in Chicago. Im neither for or against gun control but unless you're willing to take the drastic step of shutting down every gun manufacturer in the world along violating the Bill of Rights, shut the fuck up about it. Bad people who want access to guns are going to be able to get them, there is no such thing as ' common sense" gun control. Its proven every fucking week in this city where we had the toughest gun control laws in the nation.

Any gun legislation would be about as effective as existing laws against fireworks on the 4th of July.

I don't think McCullough's book on Truman has anything about him being a KKK member, but I'll check. I know a little about Truman, and can't imagine that he was. He was a failed owner of a shirt shop, who became a Pendergast man.

Shouldn't affirmative action have been repealed? It gave us Obama.

I wasn't commenting on Obama's message, but the goofs who lazily claimed that the Prez didn't address it. I'm hoping that Pittmike has plowed through half a bottle of rum, and the real fireworks come out later.

You rang?

I love the people chiming in with the whole "no law could have stopped this" bs argument. What law stops anything if a criminal is determined enough?

But that never stops the head in the sand/amoral brigade here and elsewhere.

Talk about having a small sample size. There have only been two presidents this Century and Obama is one of them. You're right. If you provide for the fact there have only been two this century then he probably doesn't have an equal. Maybe he was cloned?

Do you think Obama felt like he had to watch those videos? I couldn't do it.

But, I think he kind of needs to. He should probably know what a good chunk of Americans know.

Yes. I assumed that as well. Like the beheadings. He'd have to watch those.

He can have that job.
