Revolution released a new pale ale in cans: Fist City. Reminds me a lot of Zombie Dust and is a solid pale ale. Buy it if you see it. Binnys by me blew through a slew of cases.

Will do dude. I'm having an Anti Hero as I type but that's an awesome suggestion.
Now... they have a Eugene Porter that's pretty fly, but when I was at their brewery they had a coffee Eugene that was ridiculously awesome. It's the kind of thing you only want one or two of before switching to a session beer but damn damn that was good shit man. Been hoping to find it in the stores but so far no dice.

The more coffee the better. Sounds good to me.

Darko, have you ever tried Uncommon Stout from Bent River in Rock Island? My all time favorite coffee beer.

There's been a 24 oz. can of Dos Equis "Dosarita" in my fridge for 2 weeks, I finally decided to crack it open.
7.2% ABV.
Not great, but it serves a purpose.

Picked up some Lunch IPA and Heady Topper to go along with the beef brisket I will be smoking this weekend.

Jealous! I'm having a Gumballhead with lunch. Off all week for the birth of our son. We ran to Oak Lawn yesterday for something and hit up Three Floyd's since we were near there. I missed Zombie Dust by 45 minutes, but still picked up Gumballhead, Alpha King, and a Dreadnaught. Lucked out and found a sixer of Zombie Dust at a liquor store just down the round from FFF.

Headed out shortly to enjoy the weather with him. Cheers!

Has anyone (I'm sure Chus has) tried Two Brothers' Heavy Handed hop variations? Saw a couple different ones at the store today, but passed. Was able to find a single 4-pack of this sitting on the shelf though.

I tried three different varieties on tap at the Roundhouse a couple years back. One was the Centennial, but I don't remember the other two.

I enjoy their Heavy Handed variations more than most of their IPA offerings. I don't like what they charge for them however.

Also, in Geneva there's one of those Mr. A's knock-off liquor stores that gets a case of Zombie Dust each week. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw four six packs of it just hanging out on the shelf.

Didn't even pay attention to the price. Is it $16.99 or whatever the one seasonal DIPA is?

What do they charge for ZD? I actually got the Todd at Mr. A's today.

$18 bucks for the ZD, which I think is par for the course. The Heavy Handed runs around $13 for six these days, used to be $11.

There is a place in Carol Stream that I believe does runs every week to 3 Floyds and then marks up the cost. 18 is a bit high considering Binny's gets it every other week or so and charges 12.

Changing topics a bit - This summer I have found myself wanting to try more ciders - anyone have any producers they like? Most of the mass marketed stuff is way too sweet for me.

About the only cider I can handle is Magners...and that is pushing it.

bought a sixer of a "gose" style beer. I just grabbed the damn thing. beer is beer, right? it is flavored with salt and cilantro. tastes like I'm being pissed on by a Mexican hooker.

Good luck ever seeing it on the shelves at Binny's though. People show up the moment the store opens and clear the place out.

Was actually just at FFF on Tuesday, where a case of Zombie Dust can be had for $40. Also, Permanent Funeral may be the hoppiest beer I've ever encountered. My wife said it smelled of stinky feet, just some seriously funky shit.

Place in Palatine does the same thing. I laughed when they told me a sixer was $19.99. PASS

We did the Leine's tour last Saturday up in Chippewa Falls. I couldn't believe how packed that place was. We found a couple decent watering holes in the area, mainly in Eau Claire. A couple of folks in our group had fun with the Big Eddy variety. I tend to stick strictly to their summer stuff. The grapefruit shandy one was much better up there than what I have tasted from local stores.

No. Though they used to charge like $3.99/bottle, so actually $24 a sixer! Even worse. The $20/sixer is Papa Liquor, I think? It's at Smith/Dundee. Right next to a Mexican restaurant.

Yep, here you go.
