I don't know if the average person understands civil v. criminal. The woman is just trying to bring her area of advanced knowledge to the table. Give her a chance to develop. She may turn out to be something good, someone who can re balance the force at the station. If she is one of those people who is easy going but knowledgeable she may be the synthesis to North's thesis and Bernstein's antithesis.
The woman bringing her 'advanced knowledge'? Which woman is that? The woman who is no longer a lawyer but reads sports updates (badly) on the radio for 5 minutes a day?
Looked at her LinkedIn. Went from a career as a lawyer to doing social media crap (read: non-monetized) for the Trib (a dying business) and then to the Score. I deal with 'social media strategy' people all the time. Those are cubicle jobs for 23 year olds fresh out of school.
Again, went from fancy pants lawyer to doing social media silliness and Kyle Schwarber updates. Career path!
Oh, and her writing on her LinkedIn profile is as poor as her on air speaking is.
And of course, she's got the requisite 'everyone is a rapist' articles linked to the usually 'every man is a rapist' sites including Deadspin/Gawker and HuffPo.
Appears her legal focus was on 'victims of domestic abuse' and family law.
So, not exactly un-biased.
