The Cubs being 19 games over .500 are decidedly better than mediocre. Their current .575 winning percentage (73-54) is better than any team in the A.L. East or West, as well as the N.L. East or West. They have the misfortune of playing in the best division in Baseball, or they would be leading their division rather than playing for a wild card. They most certainly will be a stronger club in 2016 after they add another top of the rotation starter, but they are decidedly better than mediocre now. Bryant will be rookie of the year, after already making the All-Star team in his rookie year and nobody with any sense has any doubts about his future (barring injury).
