Foolish to think they will get past the 1st round of the playoffs this year. I suspect Arrieta will start the wild card play-in game. That means after Lester (who has not been consistent either) they will be competing with the Cardinals with Hammel and Hendricks on the mound, before Arrieta is likely to start again. I love the idea of the young players getting valuable playoff experience, but with only 2 starting pitchers you can feel confident should give the team a good chance to win (Arrieta more so) I am not thinking 2015 World Series. 2016, after adding another good starting pitcher....much more realistic.

Can't have just 2 quality starters and use 1 in a wild card game before you even begin the NLDS and expect to prevail. Not saying it's impossible. But highly unlikely.

Pitt is just on fire....if we use a bullett on Pitt, doesnt leave much left for the next series...

But this is what should be addressed in the offseason.

Even though my spidey senses say a SHARK deal is being sniffed around.

I know the calls keep coming in for him and the asking price remains high. The Sox want a MLB ready player for him.

This isn't hard to figure out.

Here is the NL playoff schedule.

Wed Oct 7th WC game = Arrieta

Fri Oct 9th NLDS game 1 = Lester

Sat Oct 10th NLDS game 2 = Shit Bum #1

Mon Oct 12 NLDS game 3 = Arrieta

Tues Oct 13 NLDS game 4 = Shit Bum #2

Thurs Oct 15 NLDS game 5 = Lester

Sure you would love to have 4 games from Arrieta and Lester, but it isn't like Haren, Hendricks, and Hammel are starting 5 games between them. They would have three games started by their #1 and #2. And two of the first three.
