Cubs signed Edwin Jackson 4 for $52M. Shark could easily get something between $60M-$75M.

Not what he wanted but he'll survive.

What team is going to give this clown 75 million? I don't see more than 2 maybe 3 teams offering him multi year deal. I'm guessing 3 years @ 15 per.

No chance... I think Robin quits after the season, Cooper gone ..new skipper n staff . I don't see any A.L. team having interest in the Guppy.

I don't think Robin is a good manager. But to be fair, I think it's Cooper, who makes most decisions on pitching changes. If you have an issue with Shark being left in too long, your issue is really with Cooper. When Ventura was hired, it was with the understanding that Cooper would handle the pitching decisions. It's almost like they have 2 managers. Both are bad. Shark has lost focus obviously. the idea of pitching for a team going nowhere has left him uninspired, despite the fact that he has millions of dollars at stake in his next contract. It shows a fundamental problem with him. He cannot be counted on to stay focused and ready to perform at his best at all times. He is not a top of the rotation guy. Closer to a bottom of the rotation guy, but definitely no better than a 3rd starter. Sox should have traded him at the deadline of course. He had a real nice run just before it and they should have been able to get a good prospect or 2 in return. Instead they have gotten 5 straight losses from him now.

No... Every year his Era rises with each passing month..he's just not good.

It amazes me when I hear guys like Bruce Levine opine that he will get a 100 million dollar contract. Looking at his career ERA 4.02(forget the losing record, because he has played on some bad teams, that has to be excused to some degree) one has to see him as an average starter, no more. Average starters don't get 100 million dollar contracts. The fact that he is 8-10 with an ERA approaching 5, leaves me wondering if he wouldn't be better off signing a 1 year deal somewhere to prove he is capable of better, before signing a long-term deal. A long term deal for him right now, might not be real lucrative.

I don't think there is any team in mlb that will give this guy anywhere bear 100 million.

Lavine is an asshole, he doesn't know dick. Ever since the Reds shot themselves in the foot with Homer Bailey 100 million dollar mistake..people use that as a reference point...Its not going to happen...

Someone will be dumb enough to do it. He's in that second tier of free agents and when Price is off the board, people will get desperate for him or Zimmerman

Shields is a much better pitcher, he's made his bones in the A.L. his whole career...he just got 4 years @70 million

Arizona looks like a good fit for him. They really need a couple guys who can take the ball every fifth day and give them innings. Zija can definitely do that.

Zimmerman is 10-8 with a 3.54 ERA in an off season. I'll take him over Shark 8 days a week. After Price, he would definitely be on my radar. Sammy is probably more deserving of a 4 year 50 million dollar deal, though I suspect a team will overpay him and regret it.

One of the baseball beat dudes said he'll just take the 1 yr qualifier and hope he has a good year next year. Don't know how accurate that is but no way he's getting paid after the season he's had this year.

I invited him to play for the Bears last night after giving up the two run bomb to Seager.

I wish I caught a pic of his face.
