After the nice insurance settlement, they can build a bigger and better one.

Just underwent a $1M renovation last year? Sounds suspicious to me.

yup

You get the settlement ...assuming the fire investigator doesnt say it was arson, etc....then you sell the land to developers and it is worth more without the building. Know many guys who made themselves with such "bad fortune"

There were a ton of cops there this morning which I found kind of odd. Couple that with how fast it went up and I'm guessing someone thinks it's arson.

I got an Egg McMuffin at the McDonald's and was eating in the parking lot and reading the paper. I was parked next to the wall in the lower right part of that picture. A cop came over and told me I better move as that wall could fall down any minute. Thanks, buddy!

I just figured he was sleeping one off in the back room of a firehouse in Bridgeport.

As someone who just recently had some fun with this issue, let me tell you the CFD investigation crew is CLUELESS! They just need something to write down on the report. They do focus on the YES or NO box of ARSON?

The insurance company will have a private fire inspector out there ASAP, who will really investigate it.

The private fire investigators spend a ton of time, take evidence from the scene and do tests to determine what they think started it and produce a full written report. Not a 1 page form.

Its something I wish I didnt know so much about, but...thats life.

The thing I found odd was that there were so many cops out there. I don't think these were CFD investigators, though there may have been some of those too. And I'm not just talking about guys in uniform directing traffic and managing the scene. But lots and lots of plainclothes guys with unmarked cars.

I have a buddy working on the arson investigation.

I'll report back.
