Another weak performance from a starter not named Jake. Grimm was awful, can't blow a lead to a shit team like this. Need to take 2 of 3 or sweep a series like this.

Lead off double by Cogs, and then one of the worst at bats I've seen by Rizzo. Swung at 2 pitches that bounced. Would have walked and had 1st and 2nd no outs, instead picks up another strikeout.

Montero leads off with a double in the 8th. With Ross back, why not pinch run? That's a huge insurance run.

Had Maddon used a fast pinch runner, he scores on the grounder by LaStella. I would love to ask Maddon why he didn't make that move.

I can't see how not pulling Montero for a pinch runner can be defended. Ross is a terrific defensive catcher and back with the team. They have fast runners they could have used and he chose not to use them and it cost the team a run.

Today would be a good time for Hammel to start on a nice run down the stretch and into the playoffs. His late year performance last year with Oakland was unimpressive to say the least. It would be great to have a 3rd starter fans could have some confidence in, come post-season. In the 1st 2 months of the season, Hammel was probably the team's most consistent starter and some talked about him having a chance at a spot on the All-Star team. I hope he can get back to that form.
