Jackson is a FA after the year as well. He will have options other than to be a backup plan. I'd rather have Jackson than Fowler going ahead and I would expect other gms to feel the same.

I think Jackson may be at a point in his career where signing a 1-2 year deal to be on a good contending team might be appealing. But maybe not. Maybe he's just a rental to help out in the playoff push and that would be fine too.

Yeah, and I see him as a possible replacement for Fowler. I certainly don't see them bringing both back for 2016.
