There was also a standoff in Crystal Lake tonight where the subject has fled. Was wanted in connection with a stabbing earlier.

From very credible people I know, he was one of the good ones. A simple look into suspicious behavior of 3 people turned into being shot to death.

Could have put this in any number of threads but this was first up. I submit this without too much commentary in any side of police/people. I'll just say cops do have tough jobs and these body cams are a must. Take it anyway you want it.

That guy cooperated in every way. I don't know anyone but cops who have an issue with body cams. Year over year the number of police officers murdered are down by about 50% (84 killed last year) but the number of civilians killed by police are up (about 800 so far).

I would guess the number of civilians shot by Fox Lake PD is zero....number of cops 1.

While I'm the first person to agree that Police Brutality / corruption is a problem that has gown as opposed to have improved, this was clearly not the case here.

I, for one, am all for the body cams...something has to be done. This will not only protect civilians but also police officers.

That being said, I'm steering this one back where it belongs. A good cop was sadly killed without reason or justification.
