Out of 500 shots down the line Rizzo snares one more than Abreu. It's not worth talking about. These men are hitters.

Abreu isn't some rookie. There is correlation between the best players in the top Cuban league. If you had to have a hit to save your life, who do you want at the plate- Abreu or Rizzo?

Sorry but if a Cub fan tried to quote Cuban league correlation you would literally have a heart attack.

And Im not saying Rizzo is better than Abreu. Im saying that you are doing exactly what you accuse Cub fans of. (taking the best stretch and assuming that is the true one)

What are you talking about? Abreu has two big league seasons- one great and one really good. He's never looked overmatched a single time at the level. You can't say the same about Rizzo.

Hmm, if I needed a hit to save my life, then there's a 70% chance I am dead. My chances are even worse if you use that scorekeeper from the Arrieta no hitter.

Yes, maybe not. What if they don't sign Price or Cueto and add a J.Shields type pitcher instead? What if Arietta loses the magic next year and pitches like J.Lester this year?

They have had no major injuries this year. We are going into the playoffs healthy and with alot of confidence. Just because you are suppose to be better next year doesn't mean you will be better.

J.Walton and D.Smith both had all-star rookie years and they did nothing after that.

I hate the, "wait til next year" excuses I hear from Cub fans. Either you are on board the WS train or you are not.

The other ones are the ones who are posting on the subject. It doesn't seem to be enough to post a positive thought about the development of Addison Russell. It has to be coupled with a denigration of the White Sox shortstop. Which fanbase is actually obsessed here? If the Sox were playing as well as the Cubs I guarantee you I wouldn't feel the need to take shots at Chris Denorfia.

   I call bullshit. You do it all the time. Rizzo is not as good as Abreu is your favorite. Abreu is having a down year if you look at his career of 2 years! and Rizzo is having a career year, even though he is having almost the exact same year as last year, which you said was his career year.. WTF pick a lane, man. You're driving into oncoming traffic.

You did it again. I don't give a rats ass about Abreu. I can't post a positive post about Rizzo without a negative remark from Sox fans. Rizzo is the anchor of this team and is leading them into the playoffs. That is what I care about. He doesn't need to be better then Abreu to win the WS.

"We are a year early" is a defense mechanism said by Cubs fans to ease their mind off of the impending failure that is coming their way. It's a deeply scarred fanbase.

If the Cubs win the wildcard then I expect them to win the World Series.

The odds are VERY VERY high that the Cubs will not win the WS this year. Think I heard some fangraph stat they were estimating a 2% chance or something like that. So every one of the Sox fans on the CSFMB can sit back, lick their chops, and wait for that "glorious" day that the Cubs are eliminated. Sox fans will come here and and beat their chests about the Cubs "failure". It will be sickening. It will be stupid. It will be so "chicago like" as this whole cubs - sox thing reaches new lows everyday.

I read through some of the shit....am somewhat entertained at times.....never really putting stock in any of it. Some of this crap comes off like the childish response of "I know you are but what am I".

Relax Sox fans...your day in the sun this season will likely come when the Cubs season comes to an end. If by 2% chance they were to win the world series....look out, your life will never be the same.

Go Cubs!

No doubt. In the meantime, I'm just going to pull for the Cubs and see what happens.

Abreu has slightly worse year than last and its probably his worse.

Rizzo has good year and then another good year (probably his best...both times!)

Juiced is right here.

You are not capable of judging Cubs without extreme bias. The mere fact that you are calling Rizzo's year "probably his best" for the second straight year shows that.

He's had two good seasons. Do you really think he's going to improve? Fowler is flat out having his best season as far as scoring runs and hitting homers goes. I suppose he is going to come back and do better too. Every Cub is not simply his best season over and over again.

Dont try and confuse the discussion. Dexter Folwer has nothing to do with this.

Rizzo will likely continue to be a good power hitter. The "its probably his best year" is pure Haterism on your part. If he played for any other team, you would not be saying that.

Furthermore, if a Cub fan said what you are saying about Abreu you would be calling him unrealistic and saying Cub fans think everyone is always good

You are scolding Cub fans for thinking "every guy will always have a good year" and at the same time saying that a guy on your team will most certainly bounce back to greatness next year.

Your whole take on Cub fans is lazy and extremely biased (scooter and steve count as cub fans, peoria matt and rogue dont)

That's just not true. You're extra sensitive as a Cub fan, probably because you grew up amongst savage Sox fans.

Rizzo has been extremely consistent these past two years. This is who he is.

Abreu has not been as consistent these past two years. And the metrics I provided in 2014 projected that Abreu would not continue on the pace he set early.

Add in Rizzo's age, and the fact that his struggles you referenced occurred in a very small sample size during his Age 21 season... Rizzo is the obvious choice as to who will be more consistent going forward.

Nah, its true. You are more biased than any Sox fan I grew up around (excluding many who will outright admit the bias because south siders keep it real)

Also you think Cub fans are all one guy you're having a lifelong argument with. (like when you put the "Gms would take Russell" thing on IMU who never said it)
