ESPN gets a lot of shit, some justified and some not, for being in bed with the NFL and just being a shit company in general, but this is good stuff from their OTL reporters.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/ ... iots-apart

Somewhat surprised it hasn't been posted on here yet. Makes the Patriots and Goodell look even worse than they have already this year, two days before the season opener.

Looks like the NFL had ESPN sit on this report until after the judge's verdict in deflate-gate. Since the judge ruled against the NFL, the NFL had ESPN release the report showing how big of cheaters the Patriots really are.

Not sure about that. The report is almost as damaging to Goodell as it is to the Pats, and Goodell is already fucking up the response to the report.

Yup.

Roger and the Patriots have no credibility left. It is now officially more than fair to consider the Pats titles tainted.

I'm guessing this is Roger getting in a last shot at the Patriots as he slowly goes down.

It does, but what does Goodell have to lose? He's a joke.

This is like a bad breakup between Kraft and Roger. If this was facebook Roger would be posting memes about thinking you really knew someone and your whole life was a lie.

As controlling as the NFL is with its broadcast partners about "content", this speaks volumes. ESPN is a corporate whore to an extent that even I never expected. I mean I'd have thought they'd have been better hitmen.

God I can't wait until ala carte cable tv programming.

As an avid sports fan, could you really survive without ESPN programming?
They own a big part of pretty much every sport I'm a fan of.

Except for fall Saturday afternoons, I can pretty much find all I need elsewhere. With Fox/CBS/NBC opening up their alternatives, even that's falling. Ultimately, I really don't enjoy pro sports nearly as much as I used to & I pretty much hate their commentary otherwise.

This is the first thing I would miss also.
But I'm also a "watch as many NFL games as I possibly can" guy too.
I just feel like they're gonna have my business either way.

Corso. I love the way he struggles to chew his oatmeal.
Herbstreit can suck a dick, dreamy blue eyes or not.

I felt that way 7-8 years ago. Even missed it for awhile. If I catch two games in a weekend, the NFL is doing good.

Here is the statement the #Patriots issued in response to today's ESPN report. Strong stuff

Quote:
Years later, Walsh recalled to Senate investigators that Adams told old stories from the Browns about giving a video staffer an NFL Films shirt and assigning him to film the opponents' sideline huddles and grease boards from behind the bench. The shared view of Belichick and Adams, according to many who've worked with them, is this: The league is lazy and incompetent, so why not push every boundary? "You'd want Bill and Ernie doing your taxes," says a former Patriots assistant coach. "They would find all the loopholes, and then when the IRS would close them, they'd find more."

This more or less confirms what I've always thought about the Patriots, that they're not necessarily geniuses, but without a doubt the smartest people in a room full of idiots.

WHO GIVES A FUCK?!?!!?

i dont care about a deflategate or anything..... i just want the season to start so i can do my fantasy football and go to my 2 bears games and watch them get whooped! this deflategate shit was just a bunch of bullshit played out to keep the NFL relevant and in the news during the offseason/preseason.

goodell is just there to sign bigger contracts so everyone makes more money. i dont foresee anyone like "man that deflategate was the tipping point.... i can't watch this shit no more" cuz ppl who already tapped out of football cuz they hate black/"thug" culture are alrady long gone, and degenerate gamblers will always be there..... so the only groups of ppl you're going to lose are those like ppl who are pissed off about the name redskins.

THE SHIELD WILL BE FINE. GOODELL WILL EVENTUALLY BE REPLACED BY SOMEONE BETTER AT TALKING TO CAMERAS. MONEY WILL BE MADE. AND THEN WHEN GINNY GOES WE GET THE HONEYBEARS BACK AND FREE AGENTS WANNA COME TO CHICAGO COMBINED WITH BRILLIANT RYAN PACE DRAFTING AND THEN WHEN THE BEARS ARE 13-3 IN 2017-18 YOU'LL NOT BE WORRYING ABOUT THE FELLATEGATE COURT CASES DURING THE 2017 OFFSEASON.
