Didn't happen.

Of course it did. Although I realize just how forgettable the 2004 Cubs (formerly known as "The Team With No Weaknesses") are.

It was 2005 and in that season Lee played better than Pujols. No one argued Lee was better overall

Abreu is not anything like Pujols, was though.

Not sure what Rizzo needs to do to impress you. Seems like Abreu impressed you immensely with numbers very similar to Rizzo.

Rizzo is a fine first baseman. A lot like Derrek Lee. It's not something to get hysterical about. There are a lot of guys like that or better.

After comparing, I'm surprised on a few of the positions like SS and CF. Fowler and Eaton are pretty close as are Alexei and Castro. I cannot think of a single white sox position player that is overwhelmingly better than the cubs counterpart. Several washes...but nothing that screams dominant by the Sox.

God, they suck!

But you could say it the other way too. Who are the Cubs that are overwhelmingly better than the Sox counterpart? The main difference is Bryant. But it's a big difference. It's like the Sox are playing short a man.

without the Babe the Cubs lineup is not nearly as scary. hope he can recover from that torn rib muscle before the "play-in" game.

Rodon quickly moving up the charts. Remember when some would have taken Schwarber over him a little over a month ago?

This year? Arrieta, unfortunately.

Well, we're talking position players, but I'm not sure most modern baseball guys would say Arrieta has had a better season than Sale. There are all kinds of metrics that suggest Sale is having an historic season, i.e. his strikeouts, how difficult he is to hit, etc. But I'm just a dumb W/L record guy. Give me the man who is going to win 20.

2B, 3B, C, RF i'd give to the Cubs.
They don't have Beckham and Flowers in their lineup. Plus....despite defensive challenges, Schwarber has been a very good bat wherever he plays.

But you can't really give 2B or RF to the Cubs on the numbers. I'm not even sure who the Cub second baseman is. And Montero is definitely better than Flowers, no question. But Montero/Ross vs. Flowers/Soto gets a lot closer. Schwarber hasn't really played enough to make a definitive call on him. If we take Cabrera's last 150 at-bats, he's All-Star caliber.

It's fun to see Sox fans try so hard to make their point. Only White Sox fans would choose Sox players over Cubs players. It's cute in a sad kinda way.

It's funny to see Cub fans say stupid shit. There is no number that says Castro is better than Sanchez or Soler is better than Garcia this season. But suddenly the criteria won't be this season. It will be something else. Just like I said earlier in this thread.

How can they lose in the playoffs if they don't make the playoffs?

Nice comeback and way to back up your thoughts with facts. Sox are not as good as the Cubs this year want to argue that smart guy. Look at MLB standings recently?
