When I first started here, I do believe that this section had nearly as many posts as the MJH section. I think it was pretty close. Now, it's nearly double the posts in MHJ. Maybe that's just Grid posting in the wrong section, but wow. What a turnaround.[/i]

I think it's because Keeping Score hasn't been posting much at all lately.

Not many of us fit the "Jag Bag" listener profile of 18-21 year olds anymore.

I believe many people are still posting about Mike North. It's just that most of the comments are winding up in the douchebag section.

The section is dying for two reasons:

1). Keeping Score is busy trolling.
2). How many times can the same guys post the same complaints about the same shows without getting repetitive? It's caught up with 'em.

Let's see:
Mike North has a big ego.
Mike North is overpaid.
Mike North knows nothing about sports.
Fred is a kiss-ass.
Mike North is probably banging Jen.
Mike North would fare better if paired with "..."
Mike North would fare better in a different timeslot.
Mike North is a bigot.
Mike North is a wannabe mafioso.
North lost the ratings book.

Take those opinions, rinse, and repeat every day. That's what you have in this section. Did I miss anything?

Me and Teelander are the big haters of North and I'm sick of typing and reading the same old stuff. I havnt been very active here but I check from time to time. A lot less posts of anykind. Thats very bad because negative is better than nothing.

If it is negative about hat he is talking about o doing, yes, than it is Bad press, but it is still Press.

But I do believe many that claim they don't listen don't and many also listen a lot less than they used to, which I think is the case with most.

Personally, I tune into sports radio to gain some inside perspective and some laughs.
Neither really takes place on MNMS. I normally laughed out of disbelief on what was being posed on the show. He's clearly doing it for affect, and I've grown tired of the drum beats about Kyle Orton needing to be in the lineup, Ben Wallace is bad, or Brian Urlacher is overrated.
Waddle and Silvy: Funny at times, and I feel like I can value some of Waddle's opinions on his former team.
Mully and Handley: Two beat writers. There's some insight there, plus I like their listener-involvement segments: we say, you say, Big Doug.
Murphy: Not a big fan, but he provides callers with several opportunities to steer the show: What's Your Beef, Tool of The Week. He also opens up the phone banks about as much as any time slot.
B and B: WYC and I love their banter.
MJH: Who do you love, Critics at XL. I love it when they take Tiny to task.
On the flip side, Mike steers the segments. I laughed the first time I heard the Bookie Priest, but he's now beating us over the head with it. I'm not listening to the show with a parlay card in hand. When he tries to involve the listener, but he doesn't now how to make it work. Jag Bag was left to fly freely, and it became an out-of-control insult fest. Five-team parlay isn't really involved either. Who do you pick and that's it. No discussion, that's why Who Do You Love works for me.
I don't know if I need something fresh, I just want to be entertained -- and that's not happening on the MNMS.

C'mon Darkside, I've posted here on occassion. Even supported Pappy's hot dog lifestyle when some windbag emailed that one of Dahl's 'lucky sperm club' members should do that now.

I even support the station still. Grabbed a bite at Buffalo Wild Wings in Hoffman Estates last night - a SCORE event. I saw Rock, but he was with his girlfriend or wife - and it wasn't 7:30 yet, so I didn't want to disturb my fellow hard rockin' compadre.

I think a lot of us support the SCORE and while I can't deny Mike North helped put the Station on the map, he got way too much credit and power at that station now.

He acknowledges the downsides of his show, yet fights when other want to help or change. He would rather go down doing it his way and now he can afford to.

You're incorrect that this section is dying. It's just dead. North has completely become insignificant in this market and nobody, even the haters, even cares enough to listen or post just to bitch about him. I've tried to listen a bit recently but it's either off the wall non sports related garbage or sports related segments where North is pitching moronic ideas like putting Hester at quarterback. There's just nothing there at all anymore good or bad. He doesn't matter anymore.

Last week he went through athlete's years of birth and matched them with the Chinese Year symbol.

For example, " Mike Holmgren, 1958, that was the year of the lizard, Fred." He did a bunch like that.

I think that qualifies the show as dead.
