The Randy Johnson Arizona days?

More recently there had to be times Kershaw and Holliday hit that number, though at that point the run line probably came into to play.

All it took for Castro to turn things around is to not play everyday.

The next and probably last step that Rizzo needs to take is learning how to hit with two strikes. It's nice that he shortens up his swing but if you throw breaking stuff out the zone he will eventually get himself out.

I didn't watch the game but checked the box score and expected to see something horrible.

8 IP 6 H 1 ER looks pretty good to me.

If he had his best stuff it would have been a 9 inning no hit shut out ..anything less is subpar according to WWN. #ILLUMINATI

Good call. Theo drafted him far ahead of where many thought he would go in the draft. It certainly looks like a great pick now. It will be interesting to see what they do with him. Do you send him out to play winter ball to get more work catching? do they just work him in at catcher for a couple days a week next season and play him in LF otherwise? With a 9 game Wildcard lead, they could have had him catch games like tonight, were it not for pulled (ribcage?) muscle. it would be great if he can become a good catcher, but he's not close now.

and because they took him and he signed under slot they also got #12 ranked Dylan Cease, RHP , #16 ranked Justin Steele, LHP and #18 ranked Carson Sands, LHP ...rankings from MLB Pipeline Cubs Top 30

Oh yeah... had a weird picture of him making a weird face for a day or two. What kind of weird bastards remembers shit like that? Like something Liam Neeson would do.

I've tolerated the Liam Neeson bashing for too long.

If you don't mind your tongue, I'll be forced to call upon Liam, Colin Farrell and Troy O'Leary to rain down Irish hammers on your face. And then, I'll get Daniel Day Lewis to play everyone in the film version of said events.

Maddon just loves changing pitchers. Rodney in for the ninth and now Rondon is up. Why not just leave Wood in to finish this thing? I fucking hate bullpens and managers who can't help but use them. Christ.

Need Wood for Sunday,(Hell, wood is good everyday of the week) he or Richard probably start the game.

As for Rodney, I think I've seen enough of the Fernando movie this year.

Smart move to move Haren to tomorrow and throw the bullpen game today. then once they start, if there are more delays switching out pitchers was the plan anyway. Haren can start tomorrow without the threat of him having a long delay that might result in him being lifted. Hoping he can have another good outing like he had vs the Cardinals in his last start.
