Lucky Guy    I sold cars in the early 90s before I decided to make money and sold Chevrolet and Plymouth before the brand was killed. I remember people who really could not afford a peanut butter sandwich buying the shit cars we offered at the bottom of the line back then. five year loans on three cylinder cars upside down 7000 as they drove off the lot.

Somewhat happy update ----- the Allstate rep has been awesome.....free 2016 Corolla rental (which might as well as be a Lexus) to me.......she offered both wife and daughter $250 each for immediate medical costs, enen though we have insurance thru Snap-On.....Steph went to a walk in clinic, her neck might be fucked.....but as an aside, it wasn't the police officer that had it on dashcm, it wasthe auto shop cams where it happened, that had 5 different surveilance/security cams that caught the whole thing.............

A word to all you youngsters out there......don't fucking text while you blow thru a stop sign.
This may require lawyers, but there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt that is was this other's person's fault. My wife has had almost panic attacks just having my baby in the car to drive the 5 miles from Grandmas to here.

Advice?

SD,
A few years back somewhere on here,I posted pics of my wife's car after being hit from behind by a Ford F-150. Judging from the pics, you would have assumed major injuries but she walked away without a scratch. My car was a 2007 Camry.

I would suggest a 2007-2013 Camry as a used car to anybody. I still have mine and outside of normal maintenance and maybe burning oil a little quicker (recent issue),it's been a fine vehicle.

Thanks Jimmy......and Gd's post was really useful............

I have always loved Ford Taurus, and even my MIL's Escort wagon makes me feel like it's still 1999.
I just love them. Saw a 2001 Taurus with only 99K miles for sale on Craigslist in my brother's, and DArkside's neck of the woods....$1500...........

I'd definitely go with a Toyota if I could afford one.....

We also had a 2000 Taurus, traded in at 97,000 miles. It needed a few things here and there after 60,000 that started to add up. I loved that car though....Good Luck!

Welp, the verdict is in......T/L $1200.......which is kinda what I expected.......
Might be more money from the medical costs (in about 2-3 weeks).
Good news is my girls are fine.....bad news is I think Steph has to take the Toyota back to Enterprise hopefully by Friday........

Searching CL for something under 2K..............(hopefully a Taurus :D)

That is the part that sucks. You had a car $1200 to blue book but obviously worth much more to you in your situation. Taurus work nice I had one and I also have a Grand Am for the kids. I can take them apart and put back together most of their parts. If you are mechanically inclined you can get your money's worth.

Thanks pittmike.....I bought a 93 Taurus in 96 (8.5% APR and the car was like 11K), I didn't care.....was the first good car I ever bought (and paid a 4 year loan on,) So Ford is definitely my shit.......Think I already mentioned this but there is an 01 Taurus with 99K miles on it on Cl for $1500.....my wife has contacted the seller. Wish us luck, and once again thanks for all the kind words, you guys, about my family! :D
