You know there's a certain meanness and anger associated with Sports Talk Radio. That bleeds over to this forum quite often. I have found a big disconnect between the way people talk about one another in this forum, and then the way they do it via PM, in CoC chat, and in person. We're all trying to one up and zinger people in this forum behind some board persona. That seems to disappear in other venues.


The Twitter thing, while more direct is just an offshoot of many of the wild things that are posted here. I am not going to lie in that the Matty marriage thing intrigues me even though it is wholly irrelevant to my interest in sports.

I didn't make the thread Hawg. I would hardly call Zippy an obsessed poster with hosts personal lives. He brought up something that was interesting enough to the board to go 3 pages before I even posted in it. Camps made a suggestion to why not go to the horses mouth instead of this "rampant uncomfortable speculation" . I did. His answer more or less confirmed somethings up ( despite being none of our business even though the host himself brought up his wife and coined her nickname to the listening public almost constantly) ) Maybe every time a host shares a story about their personal lives, they should be spammed with texts saying why are you telling us this, its none of our business. When you share personal stories on the air about family, you open yourself up to questions. Just talk sports or cover bands then if you don't want that.

Over the years I've heard guys like North, Mac, Boers, Bernsie, Spiegel, and Goff take -- sometimes funny, sometimes not -- cheap shots at sports personalities and other folks in local media so I don't get too broken up about it if someone takes similar shots at them.

If you're in the national/local media or a public figure of any sort and you put personal things out there, don't be surprised if they get thrown back in your face. Especially if you have knack for being an obnoxious ass in the first place.
