CHICAGO -- Despite rape allegations, Patrick Kane is listed on the Blackhawks' official training camp roster.
Camp opens on Friday at the University of Notre Dame. The team tweeted a link to the roster on Wednesday morning.
A grand jury in New York State will reportedly investigate the accusations against the star winger.
The accuser and her friend were about to testify last week, but that was postponed.
The woman claims she was raped at Kane's home outside Buffalo in August.
Team leaders haven't commented on Kane's situation, but they may respond at press appearances on Thursday.

This could be very good for Kane. If there is any place that knows how to make rape allegations go away it is Notre Dame.

Wow, the Hawks resorting to "Tweeting " as an organizational statement.

Guess they didnt get out in front of this one.

Assuming Kane is at practice (and at this point why wouldn't one do precisely that?), if nothing else, this goes towards proving that the astoundingly preposterous statement Daniel made some time back about McDonough unequivocally having more power than Stan Bowman (et al) over the roster is just about the zenith of his soapbox oral diarrhea.

I think if McDonough thought it best for business to keep Kane at home, he would have. Clearly he does not. That doesn't mean Bowman has final say on every single roster decision. No general manager does.

The Hawks tweeted it because they didn't want the media to see how very, very, very, very, very, very upset they are.

I heard Lester Munson (Really. Smart. Lawyer. Is he also a Tribesman?) on the news this morning saying that in the past the NHL Commissioner has suspended players while they were being investigated, but not yet convicted, and that McDonough has very high standards for this players and the fact that neither of them has suspended Kane and that Kane will be at camp leads Munson to believe that there are facts in this story that are positives for Kane.

if Kane get the charges dropped, Bernstein may have to take that day off. DiCaro, too.

I figure you sort of mistyped but you cannot drop charges not even filed yet if at all.

If no charges are filed, I doubt Bernstein will consider that significant and will hint at him being a rapist, etc.
