That sounds rather problematic.

"Problematic" for "something I don't like" is a worthless husk of a word. It says nothing. If you want to bite, bite with your teeth.

Patrick Kane has not been charged with a crime. Relative to the Chicago Blackhawks and the NHL, he remains an active player in good standing, fully eligible to attend training camp when it opens on Friday.

Good start. Two normal looking sentence without any awkward Microsoft Thesaurus words.

Quote:
Having him there, however, will make life difficult for both the team and the league.
Kane has been accused of rape, and is under investigation by Erie County prosecutors and the Hamburg, New York police department. Reports say a grand jury is expected to reconvene in the coming days to hear evidence and determine the possibility of indictment.

Dan showing his true colors. NHL and Blackhawks are allowing a rapist to roam around the Notre Dame campus and he's worried about senior executives and Jewish lawyers

Quote:
EA Sports dropped Kane from the cover of the NHL ’16 video game, and the league chose to keep him away from their annual preseason media festivities.

Wait, just above Dan wrote Kane was in good standing. Players in good standing aren't banned from media festivities.

Quote:
Commissioner Gary Bettman made his personal feelings clear when he told reporters the incident was “unfortunate,” and said “It’s a terrible thing.”
“We’re going to have to watch the process play out,” he said, “and at the appropriate time, we’ll make whatever decisions have to be made.”
The problem now is figuring out what time is appropriate, and what decisions to make. This is uncharted territory, with no clear solution that satisfies all parties. The Blackhawks themselves have had no official comment on Kane’s status, but sources tell 670 The Score that the team is discussing multiple options in conjunction with the NHL.

The poor executives!!!! Why won't anyone think about executives!!!!!

Quote:
Blackhawks officials are aware of the same optics that EA Sports considered when scrubbing Kane from their product’s cover, knowing the possible damage to their brand if their logo remains emblazoned on his chest.

First....optics! Drink.

Ray Lewis killed a guy and the Ravens brand is doing just fine. Aaron Hernandez killed many guys and the Patriots brand still humming along. Kobe raped a woman and the Lakers' brand didn't skip a beat. Ben Roethlisberger sexually assaulted many women and the Steelers brand is still shining. Sports fans are dumb. Show fake outrage for 5 minutes and then move onto cheering goals/touchdown/buckets.

Quote:
They also can imagine the influx of media beyond the usual local beat reporters: here come real news crews that don’t care about future access or a relationship with the team, not to mention national writers and broadcasters from both the US and Canada.

Nice side swipe. "Real news crews". Y'know, those real news crews reporting about the possible Fed rate hike, the Iran nuclear deal or migration phenomenom in Europe. Forget those topics. They're leading off their newscasts and front pages with Patrick Kane's presence at Hawks training camp. Does he mean national sports media? Those guys frequently swallowing critical stories as to not threaten their relationships with leagues?

Quote:
Embargoing questions will only make curious reporters more creative, and a roster full of young players from all over the world will have to navigate the linguistic and legal minefield that is discussing a rape investigation with proper sensitivity toward all involved.

"Embargoing"!!! Nice. Was that the 3rd or 4th choice in Microsoft Thesaurus when Dan looked for synonyms for "prohibit"

Quote:
WGRZ TV in Buffalo and Canada’s TSN reported Wednesday that Kane was expected for camp. It is possible that Kane will defiantly just show up for business as usual, forcing the team and league into initiating action if they want to keep him away, and meaning they must then abide by any rules collectively bargained with the NHL Players Association. A suspension would need to be supported carefully by rule, and would appear to set a precedent of some kind, with no charges yet filed. The best possible outcome for the Blackhawks could be Kane accepting an offer for some kind of indefinite personal leave until the case resolves, but that now appears unlikely.

Why is it defiant if Kane shows up? If the NHL and Hawks are so worried wouldn't they have decided on a plan before knowing whether Kane shows up? Isn't praying Kane doesn't appear show the NHL's and Hawks lack of initiative? Those poor executives!!! Dammit Kaner!!!

Quote:
If Kane is skating on Friday, the team risks the appearance of callousness and perpetuation of the enabling, win-at-all-costs mentality that has helped facilitate the unending behavioral problems of their 26-year-old star. As much as they have tried in vain to force his off-ice maturation, they have also tacitly endorsed him as those efforts have been failing, going so far as to trust him with the commitment of an 8-year contract extension worth $84 million.

Who. Cares. About. Women. Just. Score. Touchdow....errr...Goals.

Quote:
Bettman will be held to his words, perhaps as soon as today. These decisions have to be made. As of right now, it looks like the unenviable spectacle is about to occur – the defending Stanley Cup champions closing ranks around Patrick Kane, at the same time a grand jury in Buffalo hears details from his accuser, witnesses and investigators regarding an alleged rape.[/i]

Right, because the process must play out. Once he's charged then the NHL and Hawks should act. Those poor executives. :(

Curious Hair would be proud of this post. Well done, Woody. By the way are those 670 sources the same ones that just yesterday had those 2 saying on multiple occasions there was no way Kaner ( fanboy alert!!) would be allowed to show up at all?

ESPN 1000 transition slam of 670. They welcomed Kap, and said everyone is pulling on the same end of the rope at this sports station (unlike others in town).

Off the general B&B topic, just a question to see if anyone is experiencing trouble listening online? Every other station comes through, but 670 won't load.

I don't listen to the show. I'm just here to mock everyone who posts multiple times a day about the show they're not listening to.

do you think any hockey fan is going to hate the blackhawks because they are letting kane play hockey? I think most rational people are of the opinion if he hasn't been charged with a crime then he should be playing hockey. So what is exactly at stake here for the blackhawks "brand". does anyone outside of chicago even give two shits about a chicago hockey team? dan is making up a strawman that more than likely represents less than 1% of sports/hockey consumers.

I would have issues with the Blackhawks if they DIDN'T let Kane play. As of now, he is a 3 time Stanley Cup wining future Hall of Famer who has been ACCUSED of a crime. Not charged. Not indicted. Not convicted.

Give him a break ... it wasn't a "Patrick Kane is a dangerous alcoholic" or "the Blackhawks are doomed" post so he's out of his element.

Surely you get that 'hate listening' is fun, right?

It's boring to listen to boring people to echo one's exact thoughts/positions.

I get the "hate listening" thing. Guys like Reared On The Score, PittMike, Smarmystein (and his other 20 hate-listening mults) should just own it. Instead they all take about how they aren't listening to the show, but bring up multiple topics per day from the show they aren't listening to.

Get your facts straight...it would be easier to read the board if you weren't so focused on Bernstein's taint! Just a little public service announcement for you ALS boy...Danny is not gonna come to your house and be the friend you so fucking need and dream of having!

Don't be mad because you can't afford your meals to be delivered mail order in a box with exact measurements already done and you have to buy your wine at a store like a sucker.

I get the "hate listening" thing. Guys like Reared On The Score, PittMike, Smarmystein (and his other 20 hate-listening mults) should just own it. Instead they all take about how they aren't listening to the show, but bring up multiple topics per day from the show they aren't listening to.

I think instead you should own not being able to 'get' the idea of someone not listening as much anymore because the show has turned to shit over the past few years. Lumping me with (ugh) Smarmystein makes that clear you don't quite grasp it.

Or alternatively own that you're being intentially dumb for trolling's sake, though I suppose that is just always evident. It'd work better if you were funny. Holy shit is Douchebag=Drinky?
