Well next time you're up focus on the middle of the diamond and look for a ball up in the zone you can drive to the outfield.

8 IP 1 ER (2 R) is terrible for Arrieta.

I love that.

Per Len & JD. They don't seem 100% confident.

Seems odd to me to make the fella in NY not just Grand Poobah Umpire but also a detective looking for clues on other crimes as well.

Yeah but no "W" which is clearly indicative of the pitching performance.

Word from NYC replay command center: Rule 7.13 didn't apply because trajectory of throw took Montero into Florimon's path.

Got to admit as much as I think he's a total meatfuck that was a really nice play.

Oh yeah, I guess you missed that last 140 years or so of baseball. It's called breaking up a double play. They let you try to do that.

The bad throw by Arrieta on the easy ground ball he threw over Rizzo's reach cost them a run. The failure on Castro's part to put the ball in play when he had Montero at 3rd and just 1 out was big too. He struck out on a pitch 2 feet out of the zone. Starlin, if you are reaching out with the bat to try to make contact it's not a strike. But with all those issues, they are still tied in the game. I have to say, this Pirate bullpen is a pretty tough bunch.

Marte made a great play. Maybe 80% of the time that runner reaches safely on that play.

Sure would like to see Ross hit a 2 run homer to give them a 3 run lead here.

They have the heart of their order coming up, so Rondon is going to have to earn it.

I love how impatient the Pirate hitters have been in the 9th inning these last couple games.
