I think your math is off a little bit.
for once I agree with SH. Why do you say that?

If you gave Jeb the support of ALL the candidates polling at less than 2% Trump would still have a huge lead. Just basic math.

Too literal though. If it remains just 2 % that would be true. Realistically that pool will start to include those with 6%, 8%, etc. Trump will not make it through.

Also I want it noted that I truly believe Nas is trolling like he did so much last Bears season.

We spend most of our time on here talking about how stupid our politicians are. So yes, they are bad at this too.

Republicans have been providing lip service on the issue of illegal immigration for yrs. Illegal immigrants fits right into the economic model that they have envisioned for this country.

I don't think so. I've seen a lot of liberals defend Trump's legitimacy as a candidate. They desperately want to face him in the general election. I don't blame them.

Haven't we already reached the tipping point where there are more people here than can possibly be supported by either jobs or government assistance? Many economic & social experts have come to this conclusion. This problem requires more than merely printing more money.

yup. they even said it last night. they want to illegals to stay to work on farms picking fruit. and they dont want to ever give them american rights. that is what they actually said, specifically... its not an exaggeration or stretch of words. i was pretty shocked to hear them just coming out so forward about it.

what they didnt tell the american people is that there is not enough fruit picking jobs for all the illegals, so they would also be taking our min wage jobs as well. but all is good, at least we have our american rights

I don't. I would prefer Kasich. I just don't like the idea of the media essentially coordinating with the Republican Establishment to bring down a candidate.

Didn't the French write the inscription?

No industrialized country can have open borders. The ironic part is that many of the "better" countries restrict immigration much more than us.

They are pandering to a base that shrinks with each election. Illegal immigrants allow them an opportunity to implement the economic model that they have been absolutely craving for yrs. Elimination of the minimum wage, pensions, labor laws, health care benefits, unemployment benefits etc. These are major tenets of conservative orthodoxy and illegal immigrants afford them an opportunity to implement. Who in the hell are they fooling with all of the grandstanding?

If the dems had a strong slate of candidates I might agree with you, but they might have a bigger shit show than the repubs.
There are 3 or 4 repub candidates who can win.

2 different things here: Trump is still leading the polls, but every single analyst that I watched last night on MSNBC, CNN & Fox said that Carly won. Not one of them said that Trump won. She made the largest jump in the polls. She bitch slapped the Donald a couple of times & it was glorious. You don't see Trump back down very often.

Easy to tear down, but I got news for you,Lincoln is dead.

What do you expect from any candidate? I thought there were some interesting choices on the stage last night. I like Rubio,Christie and Carlie. The governor from Ohio has the best qualifications of maybe anybody running in either party.

Paul, Kasich is all I can see having any chance. I liked Paul a few years back...when he was for slashing the military budget n against nation building...he's swayed too far right.

As this thing progresses Trump is going to fade. He has been in that 25-27% range nationally for awhile. He has made a number of mistakes but he is leading so people are either ignoring it or lauding it as some sort of "new style of politics". Once he fades these same mistakes will be roundly criticized.

The mere fact that Ben Carson is currently second speaks to the soft lead held by Trump. There is no way Carson gets the nod. If it was one of the more viable candidates in second then I would make more of argument for Trump. The fact that Carson is currently polling second speaks to the softness of Trumps lead, strangely enough. It confirms that they are not currently taking this thing seriously.

I understand what you're saying about economists and isolationism but I don't think that's what scorehead was referencing. I think that Scorehead's point is that there is at present a time in which this country is undergoing an occupational saturation. Its a bullshit term I just made up but it does apply to what he was talking about.

Isolationism was too broad, but he's advocating a closed borders policy. From my understanding, no economist is going to endorse that idea.
