Cubs fans......we've been assured, many times in many threads all season long, that the Cubs WILL NOT make the postseason this year.
Over and over again, some of the smartest baseball minds on this board have bestowed upon us that there will be no postseason.
God, this sucks......I felt like we were doing so well. :(

I believe them.
Because they tell us that they have watched a lot of baseball, and they know a lot of baseball, and that they may have actually caught a baseball before in their backyard.

Once.

So - how should we spend our final 16 games of baseball this season?
We have an 8 game lead on the closest team with 16 games left.....I've pretty much given up hope.

Should we just focus on football?
Should we blame Tom Tunney?

This sucks.
I need to blame somebody for not making the postseason.

Correction: It will be a one game postseason. Enjoy it.

It is funny though. Cub fans are so happy, so excited about this team that is so wonderful and so great that they are more interested in starting threads like this and/or talking about Gleyber Torres. It sure seems like they realize this team is going nowhere. But they just want it so bad. It hurts just to know a Cub fan. I can only imagine how much it must hurt to be one.

Close your eyes and click your heels three times while repeating "IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!" Then wait 'til next year.

All I wanted before the start of the season was a trip to the playoffs. I will be happy no matter what.

If they lose in the Wildcard game, I'll be alright, but if they win that one and then fail to win it all, I'll be very dissapointed. Don't go and do something stupid like lose in 5 games in the NLCS.

If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome.

Awesome.

The best part will be the payoff when the Cubs finally do win the World Series and you just say "Congratulations. I'm happy for you".

I remember the JORR who said he never makes predictions where did he go?

Open your clear unbiased eyes and STOP making silly predictions like the one below...... OH at least that one was half right

Ya gotta give Joe credit. Every time the Cubs meet or exceed expectations he just bumps up said expectations and says big deal it's only x or they haven't y.
All the while Ligue nation is burning and a bigger competitor of the Sky and Fire than Cubs.

Love the effort Joe

There are a lot of Cubs fans that seem like they will be more excited about JORR and good dolphin being upset then actually winning.

Nah that's like walking out of the store with a million dollar scratch off winner and then you happen to see an annoying neighbor slip on ice an fall face first in a tray of eggs.

He is a Sox fan, its what they do, we all know the anger they display is the internal hurt, pain and jealousy they feel. They need a place to direct all that anger before it burns them up. Its part of being a fan of the Sox.

Maybe this will help conquer that internal struggle

Lets face it, for years the Cubs have been the favorite Baseball team in town. They draw over 3 million fans, while the Sox will draw about half that. They feel slighted, like the red headed step-children they are, and act out with spite and try to rain on Cubs parade when the Cubs are doing well. They are Peanut Butter and Jealous, and they have every reason to be. It's only going to get worse as the Cubs continue to improve.

It's not likely to happen in 2015. But the hits will just keep coming, as the team signs another top of the rotation starter and the young players continue to grow and develop. 2016 and for 5-6 years after that or more, they should truly contend for titles.
