Cardinals have been sucking huge ass. Well the Cubs and their shitty pitching is what the doctor ordered. Best hackers in baseball sweep.

sidenote: Cards fans are the greatest. Remember, "Wrigley sucks!!!" but somehow I was able to flip tickets for Friday and Saturday for double face.

Cubs sweep; Joe Maddon tames a skiddish lion on postgame show.

I expect them to lose the first two but I'm counting on Grienke and Kershaw to take care of business against the Pirates.

Cubs win on Sunday.

Lets be honest, the pitching match-ups are not good. But Haren did pitch really well against his former club in St. Louis, so maybe he pulls another rabbit out of his a.........hat. That TBD guy scares me. They were going to have another bullpen day, with Richard and Wood leading the way. But they had to work yesterday in extended duty, so that looks unlikely. Lester is the only starter that instills much hope. but I expect the Cardinals to bunt on him and steal off him like crazy in this one. I think we will see several bunt attempts even when the situation might not normally call for bunting, just to rattle him and force Lester to make plays he is uncomfortable making. Then, they will rattle him further on the bases, as they steal 2nd and 3rd. I would not be shocked at a sweep. I am hoping the Cubs take at least 1 game here. They have a nice lead in the wildcard and are going to the postseason. Even a sweep would not be a disaster. Sure, they need to take 2 of 3 if not sweep, to have a shot at the division. But I don't see that happening with these pitching match-ups. But maybe the Cardinal pitchers will suck again, like they did in the first couple of games in St. Louis. That would sure help.

How about Wada starting on Saturday? He's a lefty and the Cardinals don't do as well against them. Plus he has not pitched in the past several days, so he is fresh. he probably could only go 4 innings, 5 max. but that could be enough. he seems like the likely candidate to me.

LaStella is really coming around. His opposite field approach is really nice. Huge asset to have off the bench in the playoffs.

37 pitch first inning. 3-0 Cub. Hope La Stella falling asleep for the 4th run doesn't come back to hurt.

This game has that potential 16-13 final score type of Cub game vibe going today...

H rule of 4 in effect

Any starter with last name beginning in H will give up 4 runs. You must score 5 to win.

It's too bad the Fox Lake folks are looking for a black dude as one of the 3 suspects otherwise I'd gladly give them Hendricks, Haren and Hammel.

True but Rizzo opened the door . Needs to make that play as much as Haren needs to pitch over it.

At least Lester and Arrieta can start probably 60% of potential playoff games
