He's not been charged. There's presumed innocence in this country.

More faux outrage by B&B. No one cares. It's week two of the NFL season, while the Blackhawks are the number three team in this town.

Do people even watch Blackhawks games before the playoffs?? I don't.

Move on already.

Tell that to Bernstein, DeCaro and Rozner.

Hey pal, they've gone out of their way to say they don't presume guilt on this many times.

I take back what I said.

Blackhawks are the number four team in town behind the Bulls.

And Bernstein continues his 'guilty, but not saying he's guilty' nonsense.

Specifically, he said about Toews:

'Oh, Toews says it's awesome. Was it awesome for the victim?'

That tells you everything you need to know. In Dan's mind, the ACCUSER is the victim.

No arrest. No trial. No conviction.

I had to email Bernstein, we'll see if he reads it. But seriously, aside from concern trolling, what do Toews' comments today matter? Could they be cringy depending on what ends up happening with Kane? Sure. But so what? To paraphrase Bernstein, how does this get us closer to a better bottom line?

There's not even a formal accusation at this point. Or, rather, we're not privy to it. Dan got his nose out of joint that it was being called a sexual assault instead of a rape, yet all the supposed details we have are leaked. Nothing is known for sure.

If those two instigators had any journalistic integrity, they would not be talking about the story. Worse, they're talk badly about a Stanley Cup Championship team and organization in the Chicago market, no less. For that alone they should be fragged and dumped in the Chicago river.

B&B have become TMZ, because they seem to think that sensationalism sells. No, what sells is good sports talk, and all the time there is less of it from B&B. If Bernstein can't insert his venom into a story, it's not interesting to him.

I checked in today & The Score might as well just run reruns of the afternoon show & save some money.
I'll say it again...I really really wish that The Scores Program Director would actually direct programming & content. I just can't imagine Mitch listening to the same old show day after day after day & allowing it to continue.

I hope like hell that the accuser made this all up so these two jagoffs can eat crow.

I disagree with the premise. I tune in to mainly here NFL stuff, analysis on the Bears and games. If they're talking about non-stories like Kane, I turn it off.

If I never heard a B&B show again, I could care less. In fact, I am not going to tune in again for the rest of this month. Let the turd Bernstein sink his own ship.

When I walk in the door I make my usual internet rounds and have been checking this site since the NFL season started, and this thread just to occasionally laugh. B&B is unlistenable radio at times like this. You have to seriously hate yourself to partake. It's miserable.

The problem that Mitch doesn't seem to get is that a significant amount of time these days the show is in fact, unlistenable. It has become activist radio operating on the same level of hyperbole as Gawker.

And apparently they also missed the memo about Nielsen ratings being deeply flawed because that shit gets dragged out every time Dan needs to justify his cunty behavior.

The problem for me is that since the news first broke Dan has taken the approach that where there's wisps of smoke there must be a 3-alarm fire that will inevitably break out. Criminal investigations aren't normally conducted with embedded media. Even those who are legitimate media know they have a line to toe between speculation and reportable information, and Twitter is the furthest thing from reporting facts. The grand jury process is a secret process, so none of the parties can whisper information to their information conduit of choice. Dan has stated that Kane's bosses are in the dark (according to his sources) yet the Blackhawks state that based upon what they know from Kane's "legal representatives" they have invited Kane to training camp. So it stands to reason that Kane, and by extension the Blackhawks, have to hold back on what they can say becuase at one end of the spectrum there is a requirement for secrecy, and at the other end of the spectrum the Blackhawks organization knows there is someone in their organization that Dan claims to have contact.

The problem is expounded because Dan wants to play part-time lawyer, and the lawyer (DiCaro) should know--and perhaps explain--the grand jury process so that the true value of the ad nauseam shows repeating the little (very little) information known could be put into a context that there is a process and that guilty until proven innocent beyond a shadow of a doubt is not how the legal system operates.

As a part of the "working media" and one who covers the Hawks, I would expect Rozner to have been at the presser. Someone earlier posted about Bernstein getting his "candy ass" to the presser so he could ask the hard questions no one wants to ask. Given the amount of time spent on this topic on his show it would seem that he would have attended. If nothing else than to give himself a shred of legitimacy or credibility. lnstead he presents a circus backdrop to whatever the hard media reports, which has been very little beyond the notion that the Hawks pressser "wasn't good."

I don't think I would the Kane situation as a "non-story". A potential repeat championship could hang in the balance.

You guys are saying a lot of good things in this thread. I tune in hopes of having a laugh and getting some sports info. Unfortunately the past few years have been anything but. It's the same show no matter what social justice topic he picks. One of the best teams in baseball and already an interesting football season and we're handed this garbage

http://abc7chicago.com/sports/report-dna-evidence-does-not-confirm-patrick-kane-rape-allegation/992789/

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WLS) --
DNA evidence does not confirm a woman's allegations that Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane raped her, according to the Buffalo News, which talked to four sources familiar with the case.

Those sources say DNA tests taken from a rape kit conducted on the woman found no trace of Kane's DNA below the woman's waist.

Legal experts say the lack of DNA evidence does not necessarily mean a sexual assault did not occur.

Authorities are examining other evidence to try to determine what happened between the woman and Kane at his home in Hamburg, New York.

That doesn't exonerate him to be sure, but it certainly doesn't make his case any worse.

http://www.si.com/nhl/2015/09/19/patrick-kane-sexual-assault-rape-dna-evidence

According to The Buffalo News, evidence from a DNA test may work in Patrick Kane's favor in the Blackhawks star's rape case.

The paper reports that tests taken from a rape kit conducted on the woman alleging Kane sexually assaulted her found no trace of Kane's DNA in the woman's genital area or her undergarments.

Although there is reportedly none of that particular evidence, it does not mean Kane is not guilty of sexual assault, and he remains under investigation for the events that occured the night of Aug. 2 in Hamburg, N.Y. His DNA was reportedly found beneath the woman's fingernails and on her shoulders.

“The absence of DNA and semen, in itself, does not prove that there was no rape,” Florina Altshiler, a Buffalo attorney who worked as a sex-crimes prosecutor in Alaska, told the News. “It proves that there was no ejaculation, or possibly, that the perpetrator wore a condom.”

The county's former D.A., Frank J. Clark, believed that if the vaginal swabs showed no sign of Kane's DNA, it “could very well exonerate him of rape.”

The News confirms previous reports that representatives of Kane and the victim are attempting to negotiate an out-of-court civil settlement, though Kane's attorney has denied those talks have occurred. Kane reported to Chicago's training camp this week on the Notre Dame campus and has not been punished by the team.

“This has been an incredibly difficult time for many people,” Kane read from a statement Thursday, speaking publicly for the first time since the incident. He declined to answer questions regarding the case in any way. “I cannot apologize enough for the distraction this has caused my family, my teammates, this incredible organization and of course, our fans. While I have too much respect for the legal process to comment on an ongoing matter I am confident that when all the facts are brought to light, I will be absolved of having done nothing wrong.”

I find the idea of a rapist using a condom to be (aside from virtually unbelievable) kind of amusing. I mean, it's villainry that's so cartoonish all it needs is an evil snicker and a twirl of the ol' mustache by cracky.

It does seem unlikely that someone as drunk as Kane purportedly was would have the foresight to think "I'd better wear a condom..." before I force myself on this woman.

Unless he put one on at the start of the night just in case.

I read an article on how the pull-out method is proving to be the go to for birth control, seeing how much the pill is being questioned and how much wearing a condom sucks.
