He's a much better passer than Young or even Vick ever was. Young's pro bowl season, iirc, he still had a qb rating of like 70% and he was terrible at passing.

I agree his health makes his shelf life uncertain, but when healthy he's a really good quarterback. I dont think RGIII and Vince Young are nearly as good.

and when his head's in the game. i mean, he did mount a pretty good comeback against the bears when he was hobbled. then again...hmmm...kay.

He has also played well against New Orlea... I mean Green Ba.. Ok so maybe we will find out if he's good or not once he actually faces an NFL defense.

I don't really like football. I follow the Bears out of Stockholm Syndrome more than anything but I've been more or less tuned out the last five years unless people are getting fired or Trestman is shitting his face. I like the idea of the Raiders, but I don't actually like to watch the Raiders. I enjoyed the Bears in 2006.

i really think the redskins have to be in the top 3 because their owner is shits for the birds. i remember when they compiled that dogfood lineup of aged bruce smith and darrell green, with brad johnson as their quarterback. and he thought he was putting together a surefire contender.

the jags and panthers have only been around for 2 decades...but the jaguars are in pretty bad shape. but they had some early success. the panthers have been to a superbowl.

the jets get a pass by a lot of people but look at their history...it's not very good since their superbowl victory 45 years ago. and keep in mind they were coached by rich kotite (he did coach the eagles, too)...

before 2006, i'd have to put my own team in the conversation of course. but...i guess i won't now.

The Redskins are right up there, but they had a better run in the '80s than the Bears did -- arguably the run the Bears should have had but didn't. They've generally been a shitshow for twenty years and Snyder is an odious man, but I'd rather have an owner who tries too hard and fucks up than ownership that's happy with just enough.

The Jets suck, but they're the football analogue to the Mets and Islanders. Everyone expects them to be a bumblefuck, and they deliver. The Rams are the #3 team in their town behind the Cardinals and meth and have one foot out the door of their shithole dome. The Raiders have always existed on the periphery. The Jaguars are in Jacksonville. By the "least with most" metric, it has to be the Bears, though the Redskins would probably have to be #2.

It appears like the Rams have a Rachel Phelps thing going on. They don't necessarily suck on the field but Kroenke appears to have his eyes on LA.

I'd say Redskins are a worse organization. Their owner is a scumbag and they always seem to be in disarray on the football side.

The Bears have been a shitty organization for the better part of 50 years or so. They have won a grand total of 2 championships since fucking 1946.

This is a team that revamped Soldier Field into the second smallest stadium in the NFL (in the leagues second biggest market).

it took the Bears about 30 years for a new stadium to finally come to fruition (McDome, Planet Park in Gary)

This is a team that for years had one of the smallest scouting staffs in the NFL.

This is an organization that in the mid 80's had to schlep from high school to high school to find a place to practice inside when the weather got nasty (yet the Lions, Vikings and Packers all had indoor practice facilities at the time).

This is a team that when Walter Payton was in is prime with a decent defense couldn't win a division title in a mediocre NFC Central. Of course when you think Vince Evans, Bob Avellini and Mike Phipps are starting QBs you may have a problem. You also traded a first round pick for Phipps. The Browns used that pick for a hall of famer Ozzie Newsome.


The Patriots have been to seven Super Bowls since SB XX, the Bears have been to one, and the Patriots were a joke of a franchise until the mid nineties.

According to Forbes the Bears are the eighth most valuable team in the NFL (again in the second biggest market). When people talk NFL and the glamour franchises the Bears have not been on that list for decades.

I was at the game yesterday when they brought out all the "Bears Alumni".

They did a cool video with Butkus going through the years to all the great Bear players and teams and then it ended with the '85 Bears and a 3-second mention of Urlacher being good in the past 30 years.
