There is one correct answer, and it is that it doesn't matter whatsoever. The Bears aren't going to win more than four games. Why are you so passionate about a backup QB? Unless, of course, you have other motivations for wanting Tim Tebow to play for the Bears.

The fact that Chip Kelly let him go guarantees he will succeed here.

Bears have never won less than 4 games since the merger. This could be the year.

This comment does not bring you any closer to winning a championship.

The question is what to do now? Clausen and Fales are not even viable. There has to be a guy out there that you can bring in. I don't care if he's not ready this weekend, I'm thinking longer-term. You bring in Tebow and play him and see how he does. Because the alternative is losing anyway.
You lose, a lot, and you take the best QB available with the high draft pick.

Tebow sucks. 4 teams have now completely given up on him.

You play Clausen for a few games, while Fales gets some extra practice time not running a scout team, and then you give Fales an 8 game tryout.

I wouldn't call bringing in Tebow an "original thought," though thinking such of yourself probably reinforces your narcissism. In fact Tebow is probably the only QB in the world that Clausen could beat out for a job.

You're underestimating Tebow's WTW. If you are in a hopeless no-win situation like the Bears are now with or without Cutler, then you have to go outside the organization for the solution. If we're going to do anything productive, bring him in right now and start developing him. To what end would you be playing Clausen or Fales other than just having a guy there?

So how many wins do they get with Tebow this year?

Tebow had a six-game winning streak and has won as many playoff games as Cutler with 1/10 of the time in the league.

If there isn't an announcement by Pace today the Bears have signed Tebow or another QB, this season is over for me as a fan. I will not watch another game of inept football. Then veganfan will get his wish not to have to see any more posts by D.R. here, because I won't even bother.

For the rest of the season you will have to hear M&H in their infinite wisdom defend Clausen or Fales as backups, because they were too stupid to recognize other options outside the Bears. The fact that Fales was cut over Clausen, tells you who can't play---neither of them.

The fact that you're choosing to stop watching the Bears, an 0-2 team who just gave up 40 points to Arizona and has yet to register a sack, because you don't like their backup quarterback seems to indicate you are missing the forest for the trees.

I must have missed the official announcement. You guys are arguing like Cutler is gone for the season. Does anyone have a released estimate how long he is gone?

I'm not talking about the other problems. The whole team lost heart when Cutler left.

There's an opportunity here to develop someone at QB, since the season is all but over. Why waste it putting in guys that have no future? Surely there is someone out there with some talent, where you might have something. At this point, why not Tebow or someone else? You can't do any worse with what's on the roster now.

Fales has a brighter NFL future than Tebow.

No, there is not anyone on the street with the talent to be a franchise QB. And you absolutely can do worse than the current QB's - his name is Tim Tebow and he is a quarterback that can't throw a football.

It's B.S. that Cutler suffered a hamstring. He would not be seeing a doctor today if the injury were not more serious, whatever it is.

Cutler probably suffered a concussion and the Bears failed to keep him out and have him go through the protocol. The only explanation for his interception was that he was still seeing double on that play.

why did Bennett do that stutter step thing? cutler sucks, but you don't need to deke out your own QB.

For the life of me, I will never understand the Tim Tebow thing. Do you realize what you're saying? You just said that a guy you want at QB was "much improved at throwing." If you can't naturally throw well, you're probably not an NFL QB.

Cutler had a concussion for all those terrible interceptions he's thrown in his career.

He was so much improved that the organization cut him and traded away another qb on the roster.

Not to mention, that Tebow is white, which means Chip Kelly really would want to keep him.
