I just do not get why teams keep thinking he will somehow become good.

I don't get it either. When a guy can't catch up to an 88 mph high fastball that's a pretty good indicator that he's not going to have a whole hell of a lot of success at the major league level.

Quintana or Danks will be gone next year. You can book that too.

Sox have serviceable pitching and prospects. They can go with a Sale, Rodon, Johnson, Fullmer and ? and be ok. If they can get a couple ready position guys offing Danks and Quintana so be it.

Fulmer won't be ready next year. He needs at least a full year in minors to work on his command and his stamina. They have to find out how his arm is going to hold up pitching every 5th day before they throw him in the fire.

What a sweet curveball to end the game there. And Nate Jones in the 8th....mercy.

What a nice start by Johnson. The only thing keeping Erik Johnson from being a solid middle of the rotation starter is Erik Johnson.

He certainly isn't someone you trade with the hope of getting an MLB level talent in return. If a guy is moved, it would have to be Quintana. I don't think I like that.

Brian Anderson in for Stone tonight. He's not real good but he's telling some great stories. He said Tadahito Iguchi was always the first guy out of the clubhouse. He was his teammate for 2 years and he never saw him naked.

What is this, the little league world series? 63 pitches and he gone? Unbelievable.

Has there ever been a combined perfect game?

he was awful. Hawk slurping him non stop of course. pretty sure at one point Hawk said he had more talent than anyone on the field for either team , just "overthinking things"

I just do not get why teams keep thinking he will somehow become good.

Because his kind of power is rare and coveted.

He is basically .30 BA points away from being Mark Reynolds or Dan Uggla. For almost no risk, its worth a shot

Chris Sale goes for franchise season strikeout record tonight against the Yankees.

Sale is 11 away from surpassing Ed Walsh's 269 strikeouts in 1908.

When did strikeouts become the focal point rather than winning?
