offense has been pretty good.

however, IMU does not deserve an apology as it had nothing to do with the weather.

If you had to apologize for every time you were wrong and I was right we'd be doing nothing else. That is fun for no one.

The entire premise of this thread was a refute of the weather theory and its effects on only the Cubs, not that the Cubs could have a good offense.

Except MLB offense is always greater in the middle of summer than the beginning or end of the year.

A baseball travels further in warm air than cold air. Fact.

Baseball players strike out more in cold weather. Fact.

Wind blows from the north (in) on cooler days / coldfronts.

The Cubs do have a good offense. the depth of the talent is such now, that even when a main cog like Rizzo is not producing particularly well, they keep rolling. Soler hits a 3 run homer, Schwarber has a couple hits, Bryant hits another homer and a double. The lineup doesn't have many soft spots for opposing pitchers. it's not just Rizzo and Castro that concern the opposition like a couple years ago. it's pick your poison these days. as far as the weather factor, for a power hitting team (the Cubs with Schwarber, Rizzo, Soler, and Bryant have more power hitters than most teams by far) warmer weather is more likely to benefit them.

You left out Montero and Cogs. They each have about 14-15 HR's and are always a threat against RHP.

True, they have some power. But I see Rizzo, Schwarber and Bryant as 30 homer guys in a full season and Soler as a guy who could hit 25 or more. Coghlan has already established his career high this season with 16 and Montero has a career high of 18, with 15 so far this season. Not bad, but not true sluggers.

True, but obviously a power hitting team would reap more of the benefits

I was promised an increase in cub offensive production when the weather heated up. I foolishly considered that to be when it reached the 70s. Can someone please clarify for me. I'd hate to be disappointed
