From http://news.yahoo.com/memorable-quotes- ... --mlb.html

Quote:
Washington (AFP) - Baseball great Yogi Berra, who died on Tuesday evening at the age of 90, was known for his humor and quick wit.

The iconic character spent almost all of his 19-year career with the New York Yankees, winning 10 World Series and three Most Valuable Player awards.

Here are some of his more memorable quotes:

- "It ain't over till it's over"

- "It's like deja-vu all over again"

- "It ain't the heat; it's the humility"

- "Baseball is 90 percent mental -- the other half is physical"

- " I never said most of the things I said... Take it with a grin of salt"

- "If you don't know where you're going, you might end up some place else"

- "He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious"

- "You can observe a lot by watching"

- "The future ain't what it used to be"

- "Never answer an anonymous letter"

- "When you come to a fork in the road, take it"

- "I always thought that record would stand until it was broken"

- "If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be"

- "Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours"

You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I'm not hungry enough to eat six.

Didn't realize he was such a great contact hitter. Fucker only struck out 12 times in 656 PA's in 1950. Only 414 k's career wise in over 8300 ab's.

jimmypasta is like our version of Yogi Berra. Not because he is funny but because he is old and says a lot of things that don't make sense.

and he's right! This summer when we were in St Louis for the Sox/Cards games and my Dad wanted to see Yogi's childhood home. When you pull up to his street there's a fork in the road and taking either option will get you to his home. He was a unique character and a hell of a ballplayer.

What doesn't make sense? My non-stop attack on how Theo conducted business here that I have been blasting him for since BEFORE the 2012 season? The same thing a certain group of Sox fans have also been doing.

I post a lot of stuff on here and maybe your "board elitist" ass isn't laughing but it makes me laugh and that's all that matters.

On this day of celebrating this great legend's life, let us all finally agree that Jackie Robinson was out.

Looking at his numbers last night, I don't know how in the hell he wasn't the MVP in 1950. His numbers were insane that year.
