Going into tonight's game VS the Brewers:

Bryant .278 26 Homers 98 RBI 145 hits 71 Walks

Rizzo .284 30 Homers 95 RBI 155 hits 75 Walks

Bryant has played in 141 games, Rizzo 150

It's not surprising to me Bryant ends up far superior to the great Rizzo.

Gotta love all those walks by both..Bryant defense is better than Rizzo.

Where do you see "far superior"?

I've been reading this board for a long time, and it seems to me like you just talk out of your ass and hope someone backs you up.

So where exactly do you see "far superior?

I don't know about FAR superior. But I do think he will surpass his power numbers in both HR and RBI regularly, far superior to 30 Homers and 100 RBI is tough to do. But I see Bryant having several years where he surpasses 40 HR and 120 RBI. But I wouldn't call that far superior.

...yeah but bryant can't DJ for shit! DJ Riz, on the other hand, is classified as an aphrodisiac in 24 states (including puerto rico)

btw, there is one significant difference between the two:

- rizzo: 97K /.394OBP
- bryant: 186K / .371OBP

also when i looked them up on baseball reference bryant's 186K was in bold, which i'm pretty sure denotes league leader

inb4 "yeah but it's only 23pts of OBP and when a guy is gonna give you 40/120 you don't care that much when his OBP ends up being only 20pts less than his teammate who doesn't 'strike out a lot' " --- i know. i'm not saying the babe is a bum or arguing against his overall value/merits/worthiness, #ImJustSayin....................................#Rosemont

No, Steve. Bryant is 17, and Rizzo is 44. Those are not similar at all.

Name them.

Name all the layers.

1. stated numerous times prospects fail. no player is guaranteed success.
2. he criticized cubs fans for assuming bryant would be great right away
3. but now it's no surprise if bryant is better than a borderline MVP candidate?
4. somehow bryant being better than rizzo means rizzo isn't great?

it's a very odd confusing post by the drunkard.

I think at most there's one level of bitterness and irony.

You are just piling on.

Bryant set the Cubs rookie record for total bases yesterday with his single and double and increased the total to 269 with his single tonight, to drive in the Cubs first run and increase his Cubs rookie record (as well as current team leading) RBI total to 99. That total also has him currently 3rd in the National league as well.

CUB FAN THE INQUISITOR assures me that total bases and RBI are meaningless.

Never thought 6 weeks ago he'd overtake Rizzo in batting average.

Maddon now hinting that KB should be in discussion for MVP, due in part to his almost 100 "ribeyes."
