I haven't had the chance to watch the Eoannou press conference yet, but based on the articles I've read, it doesn't seem like he was asked some pretty important questions:

1)If the rape kit has been compromised--presumably by someone connected to Kane--why would the tampering party allow evidence that suggests Kane may have assaulted the woman (the DNA from the bite marks) to remain in it?

2)Why did Eoannou choose to make his allegation about the compromised evidence publicly rather than through the appropriate professional channels? His actions imply that the prosecutor may be colluding with Kane? Is he suggesting the prosecutor is involved in a conspiracy with Kane and his defense team?

Why does it matter what anonymous people say on the internet?

Do statements such as the one quoted above affect public discourse surrounding sexual assault or gender equality in any measurable way?

As far as I can tell, criticism of "internet vermin"--as Bernstein once famously described people who post on message boards and social media--only serves to shift blame for structural inequality from the powerful to the relatively powerless. It's a tactic for maintaining the status quo.

Well I didn't call her a Caller Bob . That would be out of line. Is this round 6 of BRick bringing up I called DiCaro a whore on Twitter for going to work for a station and do updates on a show with a known sexist while she is a bra burning feminist? Based on badrogue's explanation of his statement, it seems clear that he referred to her as a "whore" in figurative terms (as someone who forfeits her integrity for money) rather than indicating that she is someone who performs sex acts for money. Is this correct, badrogue?

Yeah, the pure meritocracy of Chicago sports media, where your baseball expert has never heard of a guy who won the MVP, one afternoon guy doesn't feel like watching games while the other is too busy jacking off to law degrees, and nobody who gives twice-hourly updates can get through a sentence without a malaprop or complete dick-trip. The unintended consequences of the Super Bowl stunt – 40+ interviews with sports outlets, was that I got my wit and knowledge out in front of people who hire, and I spent every interview focusing on the Bears, the breakdown of the games and proving myself to not be the “attention whore” chick that many of them assumed me to be.

Unintended consequences...El Oh El. Yeah, I'm sure they were...can she be any more oblivious? And she talks about "focusing on her intellect". Yeah and it sure shows!

I wish there were a feminist out there who would call her out on her bullshit so she can't use the "man vs. me" defense. Most feminists would look at her and laugh anyway.

Sarah Spain comes across as the girl that tries too hard to "know sports" because all she really aspires to do is hang out with the bros who love to crush bud lights and totes watch football all weekend...most likely because that's probably how she grew up. There are women out there who are far more knowledgeable about the games people play, and don't come across as sad little puppy dogs with daddy issues.


In no way, shape, or form do I think she got where she's at through honest means...that is completely meant as the shot it sounds like. If my daughter grows up to be like her, I will be sorely disappointed.
