Why would this dude think that's funny? LOLing at being bad? Maybe if he wasn't giggling like a X'ed up hooker on dollar beer night he'd have better ratings.

Worst show on the station, including the night show. Learn how to ask a fucking interview question.

Plus, let's not forget that goff managed to be the first person ever to irritate Joe Maddon. That dude is totally even tempered and pretty savvy and cool and he still can't stand him some Goff.

Could be much better, needs direction.
The tangents they go off on are bad, boring and meaningless.

Everything is funny to him. However, I give him credit for stopping Spiegel from talking about his son today. That was gonna get awful real quick.

I, SomeGuy, used to be a large consumer of this time-slut whether it was Mac and Meat, Mac And Vandy and Goff and whatever....

But I haven't even turned these dumb fuckers on to actually give it a strong listen since a few weeks into the debut of their new ultra mega OK show. It's not that it isn't bad or not good or average...it's that it's fucking terrible with no chance of improving or even stopping the consistent decline. It's a bad show. They haven't done anything to try and improve or make it their own.

You are giving a good time slot to make your own, do what you want with it, make some mistakes but learn and build it into your own brand with your own fans and all that. You would think Goff would have learned from this total failure in Atlanta and his own inability to (now it's obvious) to get any traction at the Score during his initial tenure. He hasn't learned shit. Meat? He doesn't give a fuck, he just doesn't. He gave up a long ass time ago and is just chillin' in the 2nd banana seat and drowning in scotch and peanut butter.

But there is no one is else. It is what it is.

Mac made the right move, 100%. He went with his heart and, most of all, his BRAIN. He saw it, he needed to go. The station was a shit hole, BernSTINE sucks dick and he knew he would forever be there with a solid steel ceiling over him. His new show? Not bad. He'll do just fine. When he is happy and motivated he can hustle.

Mac did it and made it work.

Really goes to show you that Mac was right about Goff.

It could have been Mac and Goff the whole time but it was Mac & Vandy...........................and Goff

He hasn't grown, not on a vine, not in a garden and certainly not in an apple orchard.

Not my words

They talked Hawks more than anybody else during the opening of football season and Cubs playoff chase, and they can't figure out why the ratings suck?

Maybe he really should talk more salsa?

Wait, he meant he talked about "Kane Rape", not Hawks. Kind of different. Is he nuts?

Maybe listeners were turned off on the Bernstein lead charge on the rape talk that Goff went along with.

I still think Jason is the best host on the Score, but it's plain as day that he takes it personally that there's a market for Blackhawks talk that wasn't there before.

He's a Poor Mans Hood. Goff is very bad at pretty much everything, Meatpants an unlikable douche who has even less self awareness than Larry.

The station blows, Silverman and Hood are the two best hosts in town since Mac retired

IIRC, after he got fired in Atlanta he tweeted about how proud he was of what he accomplished.

Look mom, a pink slip!

That is true...and I did hear him talking about all the great jobs available in his business, and it was no problem for him to find work.

The man has changed.

I was a huge fan of Goff, & wanted him to get his own show...but I now realize that I liked him in small doses. He has become annoying as an everyday host. Spiegel has always been annoying & I couldn't believe it when Mac chose him as his partner. There is just no way that this show survives long term.
I never ever thought that I would spend more time listening to 1000 than 670, but here we are.

so hey, since you think that and i havent caught more than a single segment of the new show, can you take over my role as his #1 "stan" ??

people often think my sheer textual volume is directly proportional to my amount of "caring" about the subject matter, when in reality i just talk too damn much. in this case i think goff just wanted to pump himself up by thinking he had an actual crazed superfan, but in reality i never really listened to him all that much for the reasons i outlined in my numerous TLDR posts about the guy.... i just never wanted to let him down cuz i think it fed his ego to "know" that he had a "stan" in me.

so it's with great honor and pride that i pass the title on to you, an actual goff superfan. best @ the score and #1 in all of chicago by the year 2020, so it was prophesied by one DAMANEEEL!!!!!!!!

so yeah in the next day or two if some druids show up at your house speaking in tongues with the translator going on about a "blood ritual" just go along with it because it's all part of the stan-transferring-proocess. godspeed!

I really think the station needs to put more effort/money into its production hires.

No idea if that's true [that they talked Blackhawks more than the other shows, kind of doubt. prolly just seems that way to him];
but i don't think of Spiegs or Goff when I think Hawkey tawk. Goff's an NBA guy first and mostly and Spiegs is baseball. They should've been talking Cubs more
than anything last month.

And why would you be talking hockey in August anyhow. other than maybe 10 minutes once a week.

at least he didn't blame it on white sox broadcasts, which I am fully expected of Bernstein when he sees his numbers

Ol' Leery, for all his faults, is still pretty good at the fundamentals of broadcasting, and ran a pretty good solo show when I heard it semi-recently. It's only when he's around Bernstein that he turns into an unctuous creep and perpetrates crimes against radio.

Yup, Larry has these advantages over other hosts: he can actually talk, and seems to like sports. The solo shows going away from sports (which is probably unavoidable solo for four hours) are an issue too. But if he had a co-host or was guest-heavy (outside of his 'A-team' ) he'd be as solid a listen as his competitor J-Hood.
