The best example was that Rolling Stone kerfuffle last year. A woman invented a gang rape, and stuck to the story for years, and was willing to relay the story to a national publication, and it turns out the whole thing was an effort to get the sympathy of a boy she was attracted to. It'd literally be unbelievable to me, had it not actually happened. But it did happen. You can't just assume guilt because it's improbable the accuser made it up. You have to see how it plays out. Period.

That is a good point. Broadcasters certainly should have remembered that before running away with the narrative. Of course B&B wanted Kane to be guilty so they were clouded.

Did someone just call and say that it would have been better if Kane went to prison for the sins of the male gender?

It is an impossible situation for a victim. You know you are going to be hated and attacked. Even in a low profile case, rape victims are attacked based on looks, what they are wearing, etc. Now you have a popular pro athlete on his home turf, and things get ugly fast.

Imagine going to a hospital, and you tell the doctor you have been shot. They look for a gun shot wound and don't find one. If she wasn't raped by someone, what is the point of getting a rape kit. They won't find anything.

I can't decide if I'm sorry I missed that or not.

Did a "man" say that?

Yeah, even the guys weren't on board with that. Jason said no innocent man should go to prison as some kind of martyr.

Sports talk radio is bad. It was the Penn State stuff that made me give up on B&B. I couldn't take it anymore. Today's show may make me give up on Goff/Spiegs. This is awful in every way.

I want them to talk about sports, not social issues. This is what you get when you have sports guys weighing in on legal or social matters.

That was one of the big B&B points yesterday. How this is such a shame. I kept thinking to myself "wait, wouldn't it be better if this were a false accusation?" They were shaming people for hoping that it was phony. But, uh, that outcome would mean no one was raped. Seems better than the alternative to me.

I think there's a certain type of person who finds the credibility hit that comes with a false accusation worse than a single rape. Also, it's pretty obvious B&B very much want Kane to be guilty of this, because he's a bad guy or something. BRick can probably shine a light on that (assuming he's not busy sexually assaulting anyone).

Several prominent feminists have argued in recent years that we should assume all claims of rape are true, and if some men have to wrongly go to prison, it's worth it to get more women to come forward. Believe it or not, this is mainstream these days.

Right, and I do understand what Fels was going for with his #Blacklivesmatter analogy, as tortured as it may have been. The difference is in that case the larger goal of taking on institutions is right and noble. In an incident like this it's an individual who can never regain his reputation no matter what.

Hello WSCR I'd like to speak to that dumb ass Goff once he stops huffing and puffing in a paper bag.
People will go to prison for a payday.

I'm just relaying what I heard. You can question it's credibility, that's your prerogative. So I won't be doing that.

No, I don't.

Which is why I never called Kane a rapist either but you'll ignore that I'm sure.

Nah, just a bad guy (implication being -who would no doubt rape someone). I haven't accused you of rape either; just sexual assault. Remember, it's defined very loosely these days to get those rape culture claims some backing. The rumors I've heard haven't made it perfectly clear what you've done; maybe you just grabbed asses at parties or something (I'm not ruling out rape though!). All I can be sure is that you're probably some sort of sociopathic misogynist. Definitely a bad guy. It's what I've heard, and we'll leave it at that.

That's a pretty dumb statement there and quite frankly unfair. I thought he was a bad guy before these allegations even existed.

Oh, so you are accusing me of sexual assault? I'll ask nicely again for you please not to do so.

I don't know what point you are making here but I would welcome you to actually respond to my original response to you rather than acting like an unhinged loon.
