Rodon didn't have his good stuff and they could still only muster 2 runs off him. He's going to be so good.

He learned quick this year. Velocity is still high and his stuff is aces.

Barring any unexpected trades, horrible spring training performances or SHARK accepting the QO, the rotation looks to be set:

1) Sale
2) Quintana
3) Rodon
4) Danks
5) Johnson

They should resign Albers, who has had a great season, and the bullpen is pretty much set as well; I'm not even sure there would be any spots open outside, although I don't trust Petricka and Putman.

Robertson, Albers (if resigned), Z.Duke, J.Petricka, N.Jones, Z.Putman, D.Jennings

Looks good, actually looks aces. Add a another bat and possibly get some high(er) OBP guys and the offensive might not suck for the first half of the season.

Sounds a lot like the Rongey/Kenny/Hahn plan. Keep most of the team that is 73-81, add a couple over the hill veterans, hope that the players who sucked this year have a miraculous turnaround. Bad plan.

Who said anything about being excited? We were discussing next years pitching staff and bullpen. Commenting on how it looks to be pretty good. If you can't, at the very least, admit that the pitching was actually pretty good and looks to get better then I CAN'T HELP YOU.

Correct. The pitching staff is a legitimate strength heading into the off-season. That's not to say that they won't get creative and move Quintana for offensive help at 3B, for example, but they have the makings of a pretty good rotation assuming Rodon and Johnson can build off this season.

The pitching staff is reasonable. 9th best per Fangraphs. Sale can't be any worse next year. (fingers crossed).
